Fuding is the home to three famous teas.  Bai Hao Yin Zhen (Silver Needles), Bai Lin Hong Cha (aka Golden Monkey), and Bai Mu Dan (aka White Peony).  Fuding area teas enjoy fair weather and rich loamy soil giving them a special sweet and fruity quality.  Our "White Peony" is harvested from first flush of Spring harvested tea.

The taste is sweet and fruity, with very little astringency.  We recommend brewing with 90C water gong fu style to get the best taste from this wonderful tea!

The Best White Tea I’ve tasted

"The Fuding Bai Mu Dan is one of the best I’ve tasted. Fresh and highly aromatic. Beautiful whole leaves which produce a bright yellow infusion with a delicious flavor combining apricots and white peaches. Great finish and persistence. A high quality tea which I highly recommend."

Joseph R. (5/5)

Lovely tea with subtle flavor

"I'm sure there are people that really like this tea, however I felt like the peony barely comes through. I love white teas, but it was underwhelming (especially compared to the jasmine white teas)."

Q&A

Does it make sense to age this tea, how do its properties change over time?
Bai Mu Dan ages wonderfully. If you prefer a more crisp taste you can keep the bag sealed, but if you would prefer a darker honey sweetness you can keep the bag open and let some humidity in.
