Spring harvest tea leaves from Bo Nan Mountain in Long Yang county in Bao Shan prefecture (of Yunnan).  Pressed tightly but stored in tropical Lincang town for 7 years this lovely tea has light wet storage character, but still remains very clean and full of character!

The brewed tea is sweet, floral, but balanced with some slight astringency and bitterness to make it very expansive in the mouth (and to the senses).  Tea soup is orange in color.  An excellent choice for the budget conscious pu-erh drinker who likes complexity but also wants some age behind it.

Its is difficult to find

"Its is difficult to find good teas when your introduction to tea was in Asia, Hong Kong & Malaysia primarily. I am happy to know I can get good teas like the 2018 Cha Nong Hao "Meng Song Village" White tea delivered state side. Keeps me happy until my next run to Asia! Steep are full of character and extend way past the usual 10 (in my opinion). Cha Nong Hao "Meng Song Village" White tea has a clean task that isn't astringent. Although it has a floral smell, the flavor is not overly floral. Great tea!"

A great everyday sort of

"A great everyday sort of raw pu eh. It has a subtle smell, and the taste is balanced. Not particularly deep though. It can handle 3 or more steeps."

Best bargain on Yunnan Sourcing??

"This tea is so, so enjoyable. Very floral, very sweet, dried citrus character. It is super clean and complex."

Fantastic for the price

"Very nice cake. Much less astringent due to good age. Affordable for a very reasonable quality pu'er. Flavour notes: woody with subtle dried grape/blueberry sweetness and hints at bitter herbs."

Incredible Deal

"This is an incredible deal for a delightful tea with excellent character imparted by storage/age. An incredible depth of sweetness reminiscent of maple syrup that is a result of the wet storage. That said, the cup is impeccably clean. A true delight!"

Fruity

"This is a very nice semi-aged, medium bodied tea with many subtle notes. It seems that the price has gone up considerably in the last few years, but I would say that it’s still a very good value. The smell is not too strong, but pleasant nonetheless. It is quite cooling and I could find some thyme, petrichor, wet wood and ash aromas, plus a little bit of mushroom/moss after late steeps. The taste is a mix of sweet and bitter, with the main flavour I am getting being dried fruits, probably dates would be the closest approximation. The first few steeps seemed sweeter, while the middle of the session was fairly bitter actually. Other notes I get are those of dry wood, thyme (and other floral ones), mushrooms and camphor, the latter mostly in the aftertaste. There is some nice astringency that helps the liquor, which is not too thick, even though it coats well. Compared to another popular option from YS in this price and age range – the 2007 Pin Xiang “Bu Lang Shan Tuo” – this tea is definitely sweeter, more fruity and less herbal."
