We are proud to offer a Certified Organic Green Tea from Yunnan.  This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April.

Mao Feng (毛峰绿茶) is a 1 Leaf to 1 Bud picking style of Yunnan Green tea, which is a "Da Ye Mao Feng" varietal growing at an altitude of 1300 meters (4300 feet) on the southern slope Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu'Er City).  The processing is typical of green tea with sun withering, rolling, oxidization, and finally drying.

This is a classic "robust" style Yunnan Green Tea, a 1 leaf to 1 bud plucking style.  It's floral, beany, grassy and sweet when brewed carefully.  We recommend brewing gong fu style (short steepings at first) using 85C water and 4 grams per 100ml vessel. It can be brewed 6 to 8 times gong fu style, which is a lot for a green tea!

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and are certified organic to international standards (EcoCert is IFOAM accredited).**

This is my everyday tea

"This is my everyday tea which I drink at work. It has nice fruity notes like blueberry, but just a hint. I brew it on the cooler side as it can get bitter, about 163F, western style for 3m. I get a couple steeps that way. It has a full body and a nice herbal feel to it. Some fancy greens are not as full and I like a full bodied tea with a little bitterness when steeped long enough. The price is quite good for the quality, as well."

Lovely Mao feng

"Wide range of flavors in this one, gentler than similar teas of this variety. Early pours at lower temps almost like a white tea. Then comes a full warm toastiness, with even some sweetness, that reminds me of a dragonwell almost. The edge I associate with Mao Feng comes a little bit later or with hotter temps. Overall a very satisfying tea, will purchase again."

Delicious

"My go to. It has a light astringent taste and light green soup. This tea gives tons of energy and focus. Give it a try you will love it."

A Jobial Green Tea

"A jovial variety that calms the nerves and aids in reharmonizing with nature. An aromatic light feeling green tea when brewed grandpa style."

Very pleasant for Grandpa-style drinking

"I know it's recommended to drink it gongfu style but I prefer just to drink it grandpa style (just add the leaves to a glass and add hot water, refilling at you are down to 1/3 of the glass) . It's very pleasant to sip during work, it's got a green and flowery taste to it and I think I can pick up a hint of pear in it. I get four or five refills before I have to add a couple of more leaves. Very good!"

top mao feng

"Very very good tea. Not quite the typical Mao Feng, this 2019 is much less green than I expected, more floral and fruity. Almost like 70% green, 30% white. Love it."
