Made from a blend of grade 7, 9 and "zao xiang" leaves.  Although the leaf grade is coarse, the fermentation using sweet water of Jinggu township has created a lovely and inexpensive tea that brews up a burgundy clear tea soup with a subtle aroma and sweet taste.

Over dried

"Packaging was good, but the tea brick was very dry and had almost no taste at the start. After brewing it for some time I’ve managed to pull some taste which reminded me of an old leather belt"

Mighty Fine Dirt Brick

"This is a mighty fine dirt brick, the flavor ranges between chocolatey & southern sweet tea-like, with a dominant note of black forest dirt & leaves. The large course leaf grade makes them a bit leathery on the tongue, you may want to put them in an infuser ball or strain most of them out after brewing, which will also allow you to take advantage of the slow release properties of course large leaf grades & get more cups of tea out of your leaves. The flavors aren't as pronounced as teas with smaller leaf grades though."

Update To My Previous Review

"In addition to what I said about this tea in my previous review, I'd also like to mention this tea often gains a lovely vanilla note to it."
