Classic 1999 "红大益" Red Da Yi Brick. Four bricks in a paper wrapper, individual bricks are not wrapped, nor is there a nei fei (inner ticket) pressed into them.  As such, this is a tea that is often faked, and there are many fake versions on the market.  Once you taste this you'll understand clearly why it's sought after (and imitated).

Kunming dry storage has patiently transformed this tea into something incredibly complex and powerful.  It has a thick body, pungent aroma, aged ripe taste, and some betel nut-like aftertaste that is paired with creamy thick pungent taste/feeling.  This tea can go many steeps and we recommend boiling the tea in a saucepan for a few minutes after you've brewed it gong fu style.

Classic Ripe "Da Yi" Pu-erh Tea, that has been impeccably aged!

250 grams per brick (4 bricks per paper pack, buy 4 to get them in their original packaging)

** Please purchase a sample before purchasing a whole brick. No returns allowed whatsoever!

Great shou and a piece

"Great shou and a piece of history. Every serious tea collector should try this one, but at this price/quality ratio point it's not worth having in my collection. Tasting notes: very dry feel - dry earth/wood, surprisingly thin texture, taste is somewhat subtle for a shou. High 5*, but lacks complexity."

The best.

"My absolute favorite 熟普洱茶 I can only describe it as hot Dr. Pepper with sweet cream, incredibly good!"

An outstanding ripe pu erh.

"Menghai generally produces good to great tea. This, the Red Da Yi Brick, was very close to what I am looking for in a Pu Erh. Earthy, long lasting (six or seven paos per pot, I disremember exactly), complex, refreshing and soothing. A really nice tea to start the day. It's kind of close to a now legendary Menghai 1993 (What was that? 7573, 7576? I forget) that I think of as the prototypal five-star pu erh. Thanks for making this and other pu erh teas available to us outlanders,"
