Reviews
more creamy, more umami
"I've recently purchased 2 Laoshan (Shandong) green teas from Yunnan Sourcing; Classic Laoshan Green & Pine Needles Green. While I've enjoyed them both, there's a noticeable difference in flavour from the East China green teas I've tried (Maofeng, Anji Baicha & Longjing). While still featuring a grassy, vegetal profile, the Laoshan green teas have what I can only call a deeper flavour; more umami, more creamy mouth feel (口感). Not quite as light & sweet as Maofeng & Anji Baicha. I find these Laoshan green teas to be less suited as a morning tea to start the day, and better after meals or mid-afternoon."

Nice everyday tea
"Very enjoyable green tea. I always add it to my orders as my everyday tea. Buttery, sweet corn and vegetal is how I would describe it. The flavor is very distinct. We never get tired of it here at the house. If you have more money than me, I suggest your order the higher grades. It's one of those teas where you can really tell the difference between the grades."

Umami for an unbeatable price
"This is an excellent green tea for it's price. It has substantial body, clean, umami sweetness that lasts pretty consistently throughout steeps when made gong fu style. The umami is on par with a japanese green tea, but with the full bodied roundness if a chinese green tea. The quality of the tea is surprising given how cheap it is. Its a great daily drinker. I would say the wholeness of the leaves reflects its price, but with impeccable flavor. The tea has slight nuttiness, slight creaminess on the middle of the tongue, and green vegetal notes, with hints of sugar pea and kombu (but without the sea flavor). the Cha qi is not too strong to where I don't feel any hyperactivity, but a steady alertness throughout and after a session. It is not the most greatest and high quality laoshan green tea I've had and it doesnt aim to be; it's quality in flavor is far more than reflective of it's price."

Got this for my mom
"I don’t normally favor green tea, I prefer white and raw pu-erh, so it was one hell of a shock that this green is currently my favorite tea I’ve ever had. I tried this tea in the Next Steps Sampler pack, and when I tasted the third or fourth steep, I literally said “WOW!” out loud. There is an insanely sharp transition between when the tea is this wonderful deep savory, and when it suddenly tastes deliciously sweet. There is so much depth of character to it, and the flavor is in your face in the best way possible. In my opinion this is even better than the imperial grade. I was so impressed that I bought it as my Mother’s Day present for my mom."

Green tea makes ya feel happy
"Sweet, bright, buttery, nutty, creamy, umami bomb with a beautifully vivid color. This tea is very comforting and refreshing to drink and the body is full and viscous with mild astringency. The flavor is unmistakably Chinese, but the umami goes up to 11 like a Japanese green tea, without any oceanic character. It’s one of the best green teas I’ve had in a long time. Believe the hype. I could drink this Classic Laoshan green tea year round and not get bored of it."

Great choice for green tea!
"Great tea! I’m obsessed with green tea and this has been one of my favorites. I make it pretty strong, and either throw in some oat milk or just some lemon depending on what taste I’m going for. It’s got quite a caffeine kick. Would recommend. Shipped in a timely manner and arrived unharmed."
