Huang Guan Yin (Ming Ke #2) is a hybrid that was developed over 20 years (1977-1997), by the Fujian Tea Research Center and was officially accepted as new tea varietal in 1998. Our Huang Guan Yin is from the earliest known garden that was started in 1999. It's a hybrid of Tie Guan Yin and Huang Jin Gui much like Anxi's "Jin Guan Yin", although that one is slightly different, the varietal being Ming Ke #1).

Our Huang Guan Yin is grown in Wu Yi mountains and has been grown and processed in the style of a typical Wu Yi black tea. Very smooth tea with sweet mushroom and dried fruit sweetness. Very enjoyable tea!

Ooooooooooooh Yeah!

"This is a fantastic tea. Fruity and ever-so-slightly spicy, it's something I find myself reaching for frequently when I'm in the mood for dessert in tea form. Highly recommended if you like black teas but don't want something super heavy. Quickly becoming a new favorite of mine!"

Tasty + mesmerizing leaf aroma

"This tea has a pointed fruity taste, clean and slightly tannic feel and just its wet leaf smells simply intoxicating, mesmerizing. I love to smell the leaf between sips."

Very pleasant Wu Yi black tea

"I am a great fan of the Wu Yi oolongs but this is one of the first Wu Yi black teas that I have tasted. I would describe the tea as full bodied, sweet, smooth textured and fruity. It has very good length on the palate. Perhaps not the finesse of the Wu Yi oolongs but a really nice cup of black tea."
