This tea brick is made by a small Shaanxi tea factory that specializes in just making Fu Brick with golden flowers (eurotium cristatum). This tea is unique in that the raw material used is pure large leaf assamica (same as is used to press pu-erh tea), and harvested in Lincang (Yunnan) in 2019! 

In 2019 tea was processed using Jingyang Fu's special technique and then aged (in brick form) before being packaged for resale in 2024.

The taste of this tea is fruity, sweet, and grain-like. It's something like black tea, aged sheng, and aged white tea all-in-one!

Super Unique Fu!!

"Scott’s description is right on! This is a THICC textured and satisfying chameleon of a Fu Brick. Once the leaves open up, the early steeps remind me of Yunnan Hong Cha, middle steeps are reminiscent of aged Shou Mei, later on this tea gets awfully close to tasting like a lightly fermented Ripe Puerh and the color of tea gets very dark. Did I say the tea’s texture is THICC? Fruitiness stays consistent and at times I taste chocolate. Occasionally the wet leaves smell like Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. There’s so much going on with this tea and the cha qi is STRONG like Raw Puerh. Definitely worthy of at least trying! At least two Ryans agree!"

Very Lively Intro to Fu

"I bought a number of Fu samples to try for the first time and this is one of them. Full of golden flowers and brings out a strong aroma and flavor that lasts for many steeps. First sessions tasted almost like a Dian Hong to me, almost too much so, but the second session and beyond I was better equipped to appreciate it for it’s fu-ness and unique aromas. Will be saving up for a brick before it goes out!"

"Silk is an fantastic phrase to frame this lovely hei cha. Without a doubt, this is among my favorites for this genre. The description nails it when it suggests hints and echoes of other teas in the flavor. It's quite wonderful. I would certainly suggest at least a sample, if you appreciate the dark teas. It's both smooth and complex. I'm grateful to have experienced it."
