Spring 2020 harvested tea from pu-erh tea bushes (pure Assamica varietal) growing near Shi Tou Xin Zhai village in the Nannuo Mountains of Xishhuangbanna.

Processed without frying this sun-dried white is fruity and sweet with a unique flavor that's something of a cross between black tea and raw pu-erh.  Sweet, malty, grassy, and fruity with a nice little umami punch too!

Each leaf is individually wrapped and is roughly 7 grams of tea (+/- 1 gram)

Sold by weight (weight includes the weight of the foil wrapper)

Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 5 reviews.

This tea is aging beautifully

"I purchased this tea in 2001 and thought it was good, but not exemplary. I tucked it way in our tea collection and forgot about it until recently. When I rediscovered it and brewed it again I was very impressed with the improvement a few more years of aging has brought about. I not longer notice the "grassy" notes mentioned in the description but the sweet, malty, fruity notes are quite apparent. I also find some resemblance to a Darjeeling tea, in particular old school 2nd flush styles from the 1970's. Now it is very fine tea indeed."

Yum

"These last a long time, pretty much an all day session."

Quaint delicate flavor

"Delicate nutty flavor, reminds me of darjeeling. The wet tea leaves smell like roses and grape leaves. I bet this would pair well with a Mediterranean dish."

Great gift

"My family member was very happy with the tea. Thank you."

Sweet and Exciting

"Smooth with hints of fruity notes. The excitement of the tea leaf pressing might have added half a point to the score alone, with many colours mixed together, a visual delight. Great for gift baskets and travel. Many steeps without any disappointments in taste or strength. Will order again."

Q&A

Is this considered a Puerh tea made with white tea as a base or a white tea? If this is Puehr, was it produced using the shou or sheng process? Thank you!
It's white tea.
This looks and sounds like a wonderful gift. What are the brewing instructions for this tea?
Please refer to our brewing guide here: https://yunnansourcing.com/pages/brewing-guide-for-green-black-oolong-and-pu-erh-teas
Is this to be brewed as a puerh (95-100c) or as a White tea (85c?)
I'd start with 90C water. You can push this tea with somewhat longer steeps as well.
