This is a small "waffle" cake pressing of 2022 Spring harvested Bai Mu Dan plucking.  Each cake is pressed into a waffle-like shape that is convenient for breaking apart by hand. Each mini cake is 80 grams.

Fuding is the home to three famous teas.  Bai Hao Yin Zhen (Silver Needles), Bai Lin Hong Cha (aka Golden Monkey), and Bai Mu Dan (aka White Peony).  Fuding area teas enjoy fair weather and rich loamy soil giving them a special sweet and fruity quality.  Our "White Peony" is harvested from first flush of Spring harvested tea.

The taste is sweet and fruity, with very little astringency.  We recommend brewing with 100C water gong fu style to get the best taste from this wonderful tea!

Due to the tight compression we recommend long steeps at first and/or using a knife or pick to separate a piece into several smaller pieces.

Very nice white tea. Less

"Very nice white tea. Less floral than other white teas, has a more mature/serious taste. Quite a lot of steeps are possible."

One tough Cake

"Great tea but this is extremely well pressed and some are hard cakes. 8 pieces, 10g ea. piece and even when brewed grandpa style (90c or 100c) for 3-5 mins, you may still have pieces of the cake intact and unopened. Some full 80g cakes (or in 10g pieces) open fully, some do not, you have to brew it to discover it. Have gone 10-20 mins at 90 & 100c to see if the hard ones would open fully and how far they can go into deep brewing. Have had success w/ gong fu short brew times (10s, 15s, 20s, 25s, 30s, etc. ) but the great thing about this tea is that it’s $10 for an 80g cake! Can’t go wrong with these, they are better in real life than the pics show, like the old tea bricks you could still find 25-35 yrs ago that were “currency pressed bricks”, these remind me of those, works of pressing art, very detailed. Good quality tea, good aroma & taste, strong cha qi."

A great, subtle tea

"I can't get enough of this tea. It has a very subtle taste and smell of honey that I absolutely love. As the tea breaks apart, the intensity increases and uncovers hidden, lovely floral notes. You can't go wrong with this one!"

Bai Mu Dan "waffle cake"

"Tasty tea. Love it in the morning. The waffle shape is very convenient for breaking the cake into serving sizes."

"Good quality and so beautiful appearance"

A Nicea surprise!

"This is the first compressed white tea I've tried, and it hasn't been a disappointment. It has a pleasant smell of dried flowers and sweet fruit, and a delicate, fruity taste that persists well even after 4 infusions. Addictive!"

It is an okay tea

"It is an okay tea but a bit hard to make since it's very tightly pressed. Best results were had by breaking the clump by hand before brewing, though this makes it more astringent, 70 C. Average dry taste with no floral notes, but takes multiple extractions decently."
