A special production by Ye Zhuang Shuang Li tea factory of Menghai. Spring 2011 fermented material has been pressed into these lovely 200 gram square bricks. These can be ordered individually or in a pack of 5 bricks (1 kilogram) in bamboo wrappings.

A traditionally processed ripe tea with medium level of fermentation. Some bitterness still and a strong pungent after-taste. An excellent tea worthy of aging!

200 grams per brick (5 bricks per bamboo pack)

Flat tasting

"I found this tea rather boring tasting. Rather than earthy, it tastes like dirt. I also found some strands of plastic in the cake which did not endear me to it."

Subtle, Clean Complexity

"I first tried this tea a few weeks after it arrived. My taste buds were not properly calibrated for it at the time. It tasted rather bland and uninteresting, so I stuck it away for a while. Just pulled it out again here a few months later and found it really enjoyable. I didn't get what I would consider bitterness, but rather a fresh fruit tartness that carries depth and complexity. 2nd and 3rd steeps really shine. Later steeps go strong, bright and clean, while remaining mellow and calming. For me, the energy was prominent but grounding. While it may not be my favorite flavor profile when it comes to ripe, it's clearly a quality and well-crafted tea. I feel like it will only have more to give in the coming years. Have patience and spend some time with this one!"
