This is a 2006 Changtai brand pressing for a Hong Kong teahouse called "Tong An Cha Hang".  A portion of the tea was apportioned to a Guangzhou tea seller to sell in the mainland.

This 400 gram Gold Letter Edition is made from full leaf wild arbor material, and is a bit different from it's 357 gram counterpart (offered here).

Our offering was aged in Guangzhou in a traditional (wettish) storage condition.  The Bu Lang Mountain material is textured and complex and even after almost 15 years of aging it comes through with a strong camphor and aged taste with a strong cha qi.

This tea was stored in a dry Guangdong storage condition until September 2019, when it was moved to Kunming.  As this tea dries out a bit in Kunming (or wherever it ends up) it will develop a nice rounded aged taste lacking in wet storage taste but also tasting complex and aged.

400 grams per cake

Some wrappers are printed as if like a mirror image, some are normal.

** Some wrappers may be bug-bitten with little holes in the paper. There may also be some dust between the wrapper and the cake. Rinse tea once or twice briefly before drinking! If you are squeamish please don't order this tea!

Mellow & Potent

"I picked up a sample as my first introduction to Changtai brand. I had a few sessions with 100 ml thick walled gaiwan. The character of this tea is very mellow with some flickers of complexity of flavors I can't name and moderate astringency that makes it exciting. Guangzhou storage has transformed and mellowed out all bitterness of Bu Lang. Tea soup is clean and clear. The taste is clean and sweet with a little woodiness, mild earthy resinous 'aged taste', some rock sugar / molasses makes an appearance around 5th steep and some fruit appears for a few consecutive steeps after that. But this tea doesn't give as many steeps as I would like it to. It kind of drops off abruptly. The tea energy is very noticeable flowing on my face and chest with a nice grounding, relaxing and tranquil feeling. Very enjoyable."

Cleanly stored cake

"One of the reasons I got this tea was to compare its storage to one of their competitors - I found the storage on this to be very good. It's definitely middle aged but there aren't any off-flavors in this one."
