We are proud to offer a Certified Organic Green Tea from Yunnan.  This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April.

This is a robust style of Yunnan Green tea (云南碧螺春), which is a Yunkang #10 varietal growing at an altitude of 1300 meters (4300 feet) on the southern slope Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu'Er City).  The processing is typical of green tea with sun withering, rolling, oxidization, and finally drying.

This is a classic "Robust" style Yunnan Bi Luo Chun (rolled) Green Tea, with a mix of 2 leaf to 1 bud plucking style.  It's floral, beany, grassy and sweet when brewed carefully.  We recommend brewing gong fu style (short steepings at first) using 85C water and 4 grams per 100ml vessel. It can be brewed 6 to 8 times gong fu style, which is alot for a green tea!

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and are certified organic to international standards (EcoCert is IFOAM accredited).**

Floral and fresh

"Delicious aroma and taste and after taste 后感.。 Very nicely balanced. This is exactly what a Yunnan spring tea should bring to the table. I sometimes brew it directly in an 8 ounce clear drinking glass. 4 or 5 grams of tea in the bottom. Water that isn't too hot. Boil it and let it stand a minute or so. Pour it into the glass. The tea leaves will rise to the top and then gradually sink again. When over half of them have sunk to the bottom, it's fine to drink. Don't fill the glass all the way to the top with hot water. That way you can grasp the glass by the lip without it being too hot for your fingers. Refill the glass when you have drunk it down to about a third of the way from the bottom. Good for 3 steepings; maybe four."

I enjoyed this tea, easy on stomach.

"8.8g in 150ml gaiwan with 185F water. I've been really enjoying this tea. First steeps were about 10 seconds long, a little bit biter (but not bad), this faded after the third steep to leave a tea I really enjoyed. I don't have much experience with green, but the flavor was mild yet savory and rich, beautiful savory aroma. I generally kept steeps short. Tea normally upsets my stomach, but this tea had no bad effects on my stomach, even first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I thoroughly enjoyed it."

Bi Lou Chun Green Tea

"This green tea is amazing. Very light green tea but very flavorful gonfu style and standard brewing. I will work to order this again. Very satisfied."

Pretty interesting

"I get lots of rich bruschetta flavors. The leaf looks pretty cool too. All around a great green."

Q&A

How does the two leaf to one bud picking style change the flavor compared to the one leaf to one bud?
The 2 leaf to 1 bud is more robust, slightly less sweet than the 1 leaf to 1 bud.
What is the difference in quality between this fancy grade bi Luo chun and the other organic spring 2018 bi luo chun which is a bit more expensive?
Fancy grade is 2 leaf to 1 bud ratio, whereas the Bi Luo Chun is 1 leaf to 1 bud ratio picking style.
