Update, I Used This Tea To Make The Best Kombucha
"In a 2 gallon jar using my giant scoby, I just produced the best tasting kombucha I've ever had. I fermented it for 10 days before stopping the process. Ingredients are a little over 2 cups of dark brown sugar & this exact smoky tasting hei cha tea. I also poured some cold filtered water into the bottom of the jar so I could pour the hot tea straight in without the jar exploding. Next I let the tea cool down to room temperature, added the sugar, & stirred it. Finally I added my giant kombucha scoby + a few big spoonfuls of liquid from a previous kombucha batch. I then covered the top of the jar with a cloth napkin plus rubber band. And then I let it sit on my desk for 10 days, at upwards of room temperature. Notably I used a larger amount of tea than most people would have for kombucha. 32 grams of tea total, spaced out across 5-6 liters of water. I did 16 grams of tea for every 1 liter of water, 5 mins per steep. I used just off boil water to brew each batch of tea. I did do a wash for the tea to wake it up, but was short & minimal. The flavor of the tea carried through very well for this kombucha, its smoky, sweet, & vinegar-ey with a hint of yeast & apple juice notes."

If A Very Macho Cologne Was In Tea Form
"Just made myself a 16oz beer stein full of this tea, I used 1 tablespoon of tea for this brew. This is easily the strangest tea I've ever tasted up to this point. Its really smoky & has an indescribably odd sweetness to it; the taste & the smell are identical to each other. Its also the first tea I've had that had a thick & lubricating mouthfeel like the description said it would. Best I can discribe this tea is like a cologne for your house. My oldest step brother thought it smelled a bit like a bug & my stepdad thought it smelled like old US southern men making hickory smoked BBQ. This tea's scent was more palatable within the first few minutes of brewing it. I did a really long steep (And by that I mean I left the tea leaves in the glass & never removed them) using just off boil water & the tea's peculiar sweet flavor got stronger than I'd have liked during that time. This tea's flavor overall seems to be quite strong, I refilled my beer stein with more hot water & this tea's flavor is satisfactorily pronounced in this second brew still; the flavor is better than my first brew too."

My tea order.
"My order arrived to Uk in 2 weeks. Parcel was well packed and was unharmed. Ordered teas have always been nice and excellent quality. This time was no exception. Well done Yunnan Sourcing !"

Great tea
"Great tea. Very tasty, for me, with a little bit of smoke and notes of prunes. I'm really satisfied :)))"

light smoke and complex sweetness
"What an absolutely delightful tea. Lubricating mouthfeel with sweet but not cloying taste -- think baked apple or scotch whiskey. Just the right amount of smoke. For me the third infusion is the sweet spot, but this one's good grandpa style all day. A real keeper."

I hope this doesn't ruin Fu brick tea for me.
"This was my first Fu Cha experience, and I was a little skeptical of what I received, as there really are quite a bit of twigs and stems in the brick chunks. Quickly proven wrong: a delicious and balanced tea. Fair amount of smoke, leather, aged wood, and caramel, and a little yeast at first (a friend even said bacon which I get a little of), which dies back after several and allows the underlying minerality and fruitiness to rise up. This is a strangely balanced and clear tea as all the dark flavors are an initial punch that doesn't linger. Well worth pushing it to 10 or so steeps One way or another I ended up going closer to 10 g per session, but never got that jittery caffeine rush: very grounding, calm affect on the body. One note is that the amount of twigs does affect the final drinking experience, so sessions can vary depending on the composition of the chunks you choose: more twiggy chunks are simpler and cant yield as many steeps. Overall, very excited to receive a larger portion and try other Fu teas from YS."

Smokey Fu hides fruity sweetness
"Unique Fu brick that says hello with up front medium smokiness drifting into fruity sweetness, long aftertaste and morphing returning flavor. There are plenty of indefinable flavors to sit and contemplate - mineral, mild earth, baked bread (Norm J.'s coffee cake is pretty accurate). I seem to only get that caramel-like taste when pushing early. I prefer 10 second steeps (about 1g per 15 ml) with boiling water which seems to bring a bright refreshing apricot-like fruity flavor to the fore after the smoke dissipates a little upon each sip. This tea doesn't seem to have that pleasant sour taste that other Fu has, but this is not a bad thing. Like any good Fu brick, this tea likes to tell it's story over many steeps with some surprises along the way and it brings that warm comforting, mellow buzz cha qi that I love so much."

Wonderful example of Fu Zhuan
"Dark brown leaf with a lot of stem. Brews up a nice copper clear tea. The aroma is warm, sweet, toasty with smoke notes, burnt caramel notes reminds me of dark baked cinnamon coffee cake or other somewhat overbaked confection. Also hints of apple like fruitiness; a very comforting aroma. The mouthfeel is smooth and full bodied; it is almost silky; warming with excellent hui gan; low bitterness and a balanced light astringency. Flavor is sweet, toasty, like over baked bread of coffee cake. Subtle over ripe cooked fruit; a complex woody earthiness. The finish and aftertaste are smooth, sweet and lingering. Very inviting. A slight drying. Very good cha qi with an enjoyable energy. Overall, I thought this was a wonderful example of Fu brick; rich and very balanced with lovely nuances in flavor and aroma."
