Da Qing Gu Shu (Da Qing Old Tree) is made from old tree tea leaves picked at the end of Autumn.  Da Qing village is located in Jinggu county and is a remote village with unadulterated tea trees growing in the nearby hillsides.  The leaves for this production are from one family whose trees are the oldest in the area.  The age of the trees between 100-300 years old.

The tea is perfectly balanced and is very stable through many infusions.  Bitterness, astingency, sweet, spicy and floral all at once with long lasting taste and feeling in the mouth, throat and body long after drinking it.

Very limited quantity one family production!

400 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

40kg in total produced

Wonderfully balanced tea!

"What a wonderful tea this is! I am a novice in the world of pu-erh, but I am already a big fan. The smell of dry leaf is fairly floral, while in the wet leaf tobacco seems to be very present. The smell is very thick and sweet and induces somewhat cooling sensation in my nose. As for the mouthfeel, the tea is medium to full bodied and oily. At the start of the session, it seems to be drying the throat only, but develops a more allround astringency later on. Taste wise, I found it to be pleasantly sour with nice fruitiness along the lines of gooseberry and apricot. The aftertaste is very protracted with returning sweetness on the tongue and a bit more sour in the throat. It seems to have a balanced taste even when the steeping time is pushed longer, the bitterness is fairly mild generally. The effects of the tea seem to appear very quickly, but the cha qi is not overwhelming. I found it to be slightly warming and with a numbing effect."

Nice tea

"A lightly compressed cake with fair amount of white young buds in it. The aroma of the wet leaves resemble dandelions, young grass, peaches. First two steeps are honey-sweet with no bitterness or astringency, a little bit of mintiness and dryness in my throat which makes me want to drink more. From the third steep I can feel slight astringency and some oolong-like grassy harshness that is immediately replaced by the honey sweetness after swallow. Color of the soup is bright yellow and keeps like that throughout the whole session. I can steep this for good 8 times. Wet leaves are somehow darker than on the picture. A good tea for the money to be enjoyed daily."

Lovely Every-Day Drinking Pu-Erh

"Received this as a gift from my mother. It is very subtle and mellow, but also warming and inviting. The bitterness is extremely mild which allows earthy aromas and tasting notes to come through. Tree bark and mushrooms are the main tasting notes I get out of it. Easy to pry apart, which is a huge plus for me (broken leaves = bitter tea). Perfect for winter drinking, in my opinion!"
