This limited quantity ripe pu-erh tea cake is composed entirely from Golden Needle grade ripe pu-erh tea from Jingmai area of Simao (Lancang County). Harvested in 2018 and wet piled in Menghai in 2019, this tea is still young with lots of room to improve. With aging the creamy sweet character will become more and more enhanced.

Wonderful!

"This is the very first pu erh I tried from Yunnan Sourcing and what a great experience it was. When brewed hot it smells like wildflower honey and even with my untrained pallet it almost feels "sweet". I love brewing it strong and saving it for later for an incredible iced tea. It somewhat gives a numbing/tingling sensation that I can't get enough of. As an extra special treat I like to add a touch of actual wildfower honey or unrefined sugar to the iced tea to bring forward the more floral notes of the tea. I know adding sugar is looked down on by many in the community but it helps a newbie like me catch more of the nuances each tea provides. I am relatively new to pu erh tea so I don't have super refined taste buds yet, nor do I have the vocabulary to fully articulate my experience so take my review with a grain of salt."

Reminds me of Taste of Menghai 2018

"This is a great young shu and it reminds me of another young shu, The Taste of Menghai. I love the latter, and it is my go to daily when I'm looking for something tasty and exhilarating. This Needle tea when now be part of the weekly rotation. Dark soup, with sweet wood and earth notes. Lovely."

Really interesting ripe - not run of the mill

"A really interesting ripe. Good woody flavours (bit of vanilla) with perhaps a bit of fruity cherry notes in there. Super creamy and thick. Tickle of crisp bitterness. Good sweetness too, perhaps even a little maltiness. Makes a really nice change from more samey run of the mill ripes."
