This 2013 Spring Na Ka production is a very high quality production from wild arbor tea trees and bushes from the Na Ka mountain area in Menghai County. It's the first Na Ka tea I have offered, and did so because I feel it's an excellent example of the Na Ka terroir that's both good and affordable!

The tea has been stored in Guangdong since 2013 and the hot and humid storage has helped it along by transforming it's bitter and astringent Northern Bu Lang character into something rich and complex. It's fruity, nutty and has a chicken soup thickness to it. There is definitely still a fair amount of astringency and bitterness with this tea, but that's expected, and needed for this tea to continue to age and grow in stature.

** Some wrappers may be bug-bitten with little holes in the paper. There may also be some dust between the wrapper and the cake. Rinse tea once or twice briefly before drinking! If you are squeamish please don't order this tea!

357 grams per cake!

Grassy start, energy burst.

"I am beginner in puerh but this one is the one i like. It begins with dried grass taste and with every next steep becomes more smooth and deep. Best steeps for me are third when grassy part leaves and becomes fruitty part. Sad that there is no cake here. Had to get 7 more 25gr samples."

Youthful and punchy, but drinking well

"This has good-quality leaves with initially strongly aromatic and herbal characters over a bitter background but is attractive to drink even so. The flavour profile thins out partly later on so that grassy notes predominate, but the tea's texture, energy, and palatability remain and it lasts beyond 12 steeps. This feels like a premium product with strong potential for aging, but unlike the year-older Chenshenghao Bawang cake can be enjoyed now. Would have given four-and-a-half stars if that was possible."
