This is purely Lao Man'e village ripe pu-erh tea harvested from mature trees in spring 2021 and then wet piled in autumn 2021.

This is the most potent ripe tea we have ever pressed. It's quite bitter, but is incredibly complex tasting with a long lasting mouthfeel and strong cha qi as well!

Entirely Lao Man'e old plantation material Lao Man'e from village in the Bu Lang mountains. Lao Man'e is a village in the Bu Lang Mountain range, not far from Lao Ban Zhang and also quite near Jie Liang village. Lao Man'e tea is something in between the extreme bitterness of Jie Liang tea and the bitterness with fast and sweet huigan of Lao Ban Zhang tea.

So good I bought a second cake

"yea it’s a bit expensive $/gr for ripe but it’s so good. Sweet, bitter, thick and strong. Lasts about 6-7 steeps before it starts getting underwhelming for me, but the steeps up to 3-4….wow. I swear the soup gets almost a purplish tint on the money steep before it starts backing off. Maybe it’s my lighting but I’ve noticed it every time I brew this (which is often!) Worth a sample for sure if you are on the fence."

100% Power Tea

"I had a sample of this tea but put off trying it for a long time. I guess I was scared of finding out that it's really worth the price! Now I have four cakes stowed away for those days when I need 100% power tea. No compromises on taste or qi here. It also has something extra which makes the mouth tingle and the body say "Thank you!". This tea will be too bitter for some tastes though - in which case I'd say the Bingdao Five Villages has a lot to offer."

"This is a really special tea. Cha qi is very strong and stimulating, but not jittery at all. The taste isn't bitter in the same way a young sheng or other bu lang shou can be, but rather dry in the way a chardonnay or cabernet sauvignon can be... it's a very unique. Zero wet pile taste. Thick, inky dark tea soup that is distinctly lacking any sweetness or creaminess, but full of dry, earthy minerality. I drink a lot of high end shou and this tea cements itself clearly as one of, if not thee, best shou available in the world today."

Finest shou, but not for everyone

"First of all, this is undoubtedly not for everyone. If you don’t like bitter shou with a kick, then look another way. This however is finest product, and there is no doubt about it. From the wet leaf aroma, to consistency, mouthfeel, aftertaste, qi. Fantastic. Bitter, cherries, milky sweetness, touch of wood."
