This is the most well balanced ripe I've ever had
"Bought a sample, now have 2 cakes on the way. To date, this is my all time favorite ripe. It is unreal and the cha chi description is accurate, present but not over powering. This ripe has one of the best flavor profiles as well. Just WOW! This proves YS can compete with the best of them!"

Relaxing Cha Qi sans evolving taste & smell
"First Infusion: 10 seconds @ 90C (194F): rinse Second steep: 20 seconds @ 90C (194F); Light amber brown. Smells remind me of evening rain during October with a loved one. Taste is too faint, can't quite taste much at all. Very light in texture. Third steep: 25 seconds @ 90C (194F); Dark amber brown. Smells the same as the previous steep, definitely heavier texture, still no distinct taste. Fourth steep: 30 seconds @ 90C (194F); Strangely went back to a light amber brown soup. Smells turning a bit to show a heartier soil with quality compost and wet leaves of Autumn. The taste has finally revealed itself. It reminds me of rain while in the midst of an Aspen grove loosing it's leaves preparing for winter. A very smooth soup. In addition, it's a very clean shou, with abundant Cha Qi that delivers a relaxed state. Fifth steep: 35 seconds @ 90C (194F); No change. Sixth steep: 40 seconds @ 90C (194F); The color remains the same, as does the taste, and smell of the wet leaf. However, the energy keeps taking me deeper. The soup itself has started to develop a silky after-texture and there's the faintest hints of honey towards the end. Seventh steep: 45 seconds @ 90C (194F); The color, taste, and wet leaf smell remain consistent. The soup continues to thicken, while developing from a silky after-texture to one that keeps the mouth moist. The honey is a bit more pronounced. Frankly, I'm not drinking this tea for the taste anymore, the Cha Qi is precisely what I've been in need of these past few weeks, and that relaxation alone is the utmost pleasurable. Eighth steep: 50 seconds @ 90C (194F). Ninth steep: 55 seconds @ 90C (194F). Tenth steep: 60 seconds @ 90C (194F). Eleventh steep: 75 seconds @ 90C (194F); The only evolutions from the Eighth steep until now is the increased silky/moist texture, a thicker soup, and more pronounced honey aftertaste (albeit faint). Twelfth steep: 100 seconds @ 90C (194F); Now, the honey is starting to come through in the wet leaf smell, and the smell of the soup. Also, it's far more apparent when sipping. While it's appreciated, that's not the reason I continue to sip this tea, I see it's true beauty lies in the relaxing Cha Qi. My muscle tension is melting away. The soreness I've felt upon return from a 16 mile (25.75 km) hiking trip is simply dissolving, and my mind has been gently guided towards quite the relaxing experience. I'm going to simply stop writing this review now, and focus on being present. I'll add below a note relating to how many steeps I make it to before noticing another change. Eighteenth Steep: 360 @ 90C (194F), finally started to lose it's color and all other elements relating to smell & taste. It's been a beautiful night. Farewell"

2017 Yunnan Sourcing Rooster King Ripe Pu-erh
"Loose brick with a medium spring leaf smell. Starts off fast with a full and rich taste, develops into a sweet syrup steep 4-10. Mellows nicely for the 5-15 steeps taking on a dark color. Done by 15 but can go out to 20 with some light but still nice steeps. Qi is nice, up but mellow. Good evening tea. This is the second brick I have ordered and will get more. Doesn't need aging ready to go."

Smooth
"After letting this rest a few weeks, I brewed a small amount to sample. This is really flavorful, smooth with an interesting aftertaste. What impresses me also, is YunnanSourcing rigor to exclude pesticides. This is extremely important in my purchasing decisions. I have stored the cake now, and will return to it after a year."

"It's pretty and has nice aged aromas. Hard to say anything else since I've put it away for aging."

A nice puer cake
"It's a good tasting puer for a good price. It's still quite young but can be drank even now. It'll probably just get better with the years."
