Spring 2011 Jing Mai Mountain tea leaves were wet piled in Menghai town for 45 days before being graded, blended and pressed into these lovely ripe tea cakes. Jing Mai Mountain tea leaves come from mixed leaf (large and small) varietal tea bushes and are distinctive in both aroma and taste. Ripe Pu-erh tea made from Jingmai tea leaves have a unique bitter, sweet, and creamy taste.

This tea cake is a tippy grade cake with Gong Ting, Te Ji, Grade 1, and Grade 3 leaves in it. The smaller leaves have a potency while the larger leaves add a depth that complements the smaller leaves.

A lovely potent ripe tea that will benefit from further aging, but aged just enough to be enjoyable now as well.

400 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

"Is it ok to eat few tea leaves?"

Good everyday tea

"This pu er is very smooth and mellow, both the flavor and the effect are subtle. No overbearing flavors in any direction - not bitter, not terribly sweet, not smoky or woody. Also the energy is so balanced as to be almost unnoticable, unlike older more robust pu ers that smell like a forest floor and convey the presence and solidity of an ancient pine. If you're looking for something to knock your socks off with flavor or effect you'll probably want to go for something else, but this tea is very nice for daily consumption or further aging."

Nice shou!

"It's got a thick, creamy mouthfeel, some sweetness, a touch of bitter, and at the end of the sip I get a slight cocoa/coffee note. Very nice, reasonably priced ripe. It does still haves a bit of wo dui/fermentation flavor, but not enough to keep it from being a very enjoyable brew."

"One of the best ripe teas that I've had in recent years. And even though it's from an expensive producer, the cake is fairly priced for the overall quality. If you like ripe teas, give it try."

DECENT!

"Damn good for the money. It has great body. Sort of a creamy burnt sugar toffee, and lightly roasted coffee thing going on. Autumn leaves, grandpa's woodshed, dark chocolate bitterness that fades into a sweet and clean finish, with a hint of a lingering pine resin. I could drink this tea every day."
