This is small "farmer" production from a grower in "Yi Bi" village in Yi Wu area of Xishuangbanna. It's entirely late autumn harvested tea from wild arbor trees and bushes. Not old tea trees, just growing naturally without any kind of tending.

These cakes were stone pressed in November 2017 and are medium-light compression 250 gram cakes. The tea is so smooth and sweet. There is some fruitiness which is countered by just a touch of vegetal astringency. The tea soup is thick and viscous and gold-yellow colored. The aroma is floral with some fruit notes and very pungent! The tea is quite persistent and even with hot water and longer times will go many steeps!

250 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

Decent. Yammy, herbaceous. Very satisfying.

"Decent. Yammy, herbaceous. Very satisfying. Won't knock your socks off but good for the money and will probably age well."

A very pleasant sheng

"A very pleasant, soothing, warm, and easy drinking sheng, not getting any bitterness or abrasive tasting notes, has some astringency. The heated dry leaves have a fruity aroma. A very present taste in the drink, not light but not dark (medium), the most forward taste note I get is of dry herbals (not fresh vegetals). Very subtle fruitiness or floral notes, certainly has a bit of sweetness but can't quite put my finger on what it is."

Lovely Young Sheng.

"Just as described by YS. This is a lovely tea to introduce Young Raw Puerh to someone. Low in bitterness, very sweet and smooth. The thing I enjoyed most about this tea is the creamy mouthfeel and the richness in the soup. The fruitiness compliments everything else. No smokiness here. Just velvety richness. It does go for many infusions."

A pleasant surprise

"A beautiful cake that tastes better with each infusion. Moderate floral and vegetal flavors balanced with a "just right" astringency and a sweet finish. I especially enjoyed the mouthfeel of this tea and, as advertised, I found it to be pleasantly viscous and golden in my cup. This is definitely a tea that I will invest in for later enjoyment."

Perfect tea

"Light, refreshing with floral aroma and sweet aftertaste!"

Very surprised

"I had received a sample of this tea some number of months back. I tried it once and was not impressed at the time. Well I just found that sample laying around and decided to give it another shot. I was very surprised that it turned out to be pretty good. I'll describe the aroma as vegetal/classic Yiwu but more on the vegetal side. It does have a pretty soft texture and some sweet aftertaste. None of those things are surprising for an autumn Yiwu, but what did surprise me was the Qi. It didn't put me under the table or anything but it is certainly there, a bit stupefying and very warming. This stuff had me sweating. In conclusion, I find that teas at this price point can often be undrinkable but this one is very drinkable, and had some body feels. Definitely going to grab a cake with my next order."
