This is entirely 2016 spring harvested Shou Mei White Tea from Fuding area of Fujian. It was pressed in 2016 and then stored in a dryish Guangdong storage condition until now. The taste of the tea is ultra smooth and sweet with notes of malt, sugarcane and the slightest vegetal umami taste.   This can be brewed western style as well with excellent results!

Ethereal Charmer

"As this cake breathes in my shelf, it has begun to permeate a sweet hay, dry leaf, dried fruit aroma right through the ziploc bag. Quite inviting to be sure. I brew +\- 5g in an 8oz mug with infuser, water a couple of minutes off boil, steeped 40s and enjoy the results. Like many whites, the flavor comes gently to the palate. Once I stopped searching for specific flavors, the fullness of it's character came to me ever more as I sipped through the mug. I'd call it a mid-summer vibe. The fresh young white is tinged with a sweet, fall leaf nuttiness and a trace of cinnamon apple. White I appreciate a bit of astringent power in my tea, there really isn't any in this, but I didn't find myself missing it either. I've drunk it fast and slow to see how it accumulates, but it stays quite light and clear overall for me. As such, I've pushed this tea successfully, both in 'over-leafing' and in over-steeping. It is very forgiving and while you will never find it to pack a wallop, its ethereal charm is intensified by doing so."
