We are very excited to offer this aged Yi Wu raw pu-erh tea! The tea was harvested in Spring 2003, and then stored as loose leaf "mao cha" in Yi Wu before being purchased by the Hong Xuan Tea Factory at the end 2006 when it was pressed. Since then it has been stored in the mountainous area to the north of Kunming.

This is well aged tea that will surprise many with it's aged character. Warm, thick, sweet, and complex to drink.

** Some wrappers may be bug-bitten with little holes in the paper. There may also be some dust between the wrapper and the cake. Rinse tea once or twice briefly before drinking! If you are squeamish please don't order this tea!

"This tea is quite earthy and dusty. My first sessions with it were not very rewarding and the tea soup felt thin. I increased the amount of tea per ml (6g/100ml) and also rinsed it longer, a little bit more than half a minute. With these changes, it became quite enjoyable. It becomes sweeter, sometimes even a little bit astringent, which I enjoy. It is still not my favorite tea. Takes this review with a grain of salt, because I generally prefer more dynamic, vibrant, youthful sheng. So this is quite naturally, not my cup of tea. But there are evenings where I can enjoy it for what it is."

"This tea is a great example of an aged Yi Wu Sheng -- light, smooth, sweet. Still holds it's flavor after seven guiwan steeps (3 gm tea, 50 ml water, 100C, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, etc)."
