This is a blend of multiple types of Purple varietal (mostly black) teas from the first flush of spring 2021 harvest!  A painstakingly blended cake contain several unique teas and multiple purple varietals from 4 different regions of Yunnan!  Bursting with flavor and aroma.  If you are a fan of purple black teas, then this cake will surely delight you!

Splendid tea!

"I won't regale you with a string of adjectives that may or may not seem accurate to you. I'll just say simply that this tea, as well as the other vintage of Purple Voodoo teas I've had, is a definite keeper. 5 gr infused in 75ml of spring water yielded 6 infusions at 35 seconds each, brewed and served in clay. To me, this tea offers a fruity sweetness though not a sugary sweet. I'll not tell you which fruit, that will be decided by YOUR palate. It's a tea I will describe as befitting a comfortable chair, soft lamplight, and a good Conan Doyle mystery. This tea, to me, will not empower you to run a marathon or impair a night's sleep, but it will easily satisfy taste and mood without overpowering either. I have an unopened cake but I'm ordering more before this vintage is no longer available. It is that good."

Nice mild black tea

"I tried this tea when it came in a sample pack. After my second pot I had to purchase a whole cake. I find I have a hard time brewing black tea so that it is not bitter, but this tea has a big margin of error. It is deliciously mild, a little malty black tea flavor but not overwhelmingly so. I don’t know how to describe it other than refreshing, slightly sweet and delicious. Hard to mess up, even if you are like me and can’t get a consistent pot of tea. The artwork is also beautiful and I plan on framing it after I finish the cake : )"

Makes an amazing Iced tea

"I got this in a 25g sampler as a promo. I brewed up 5g hot and it was good, but purple tea is not my thing, so I did what I usually do with "not favorite" teas and brewed up the other 20g into a gallon of iced tea. It was probably the best Iced tea I've ever had. I am considering ordering a whole cake just for iced tea."

Good, but couldn't quite stand up to the hype

"It's a nice tea, but with respect to the other purple teas available at YS I couldn't quite see where the hype comes from. The slight dry bitterness was quite nice, reminded me of grapefruit. Good, but not amazing."
