De Hua "Pink Jade" Jingdezhen Porcelain Tea Set
A feather-light, high-fired porcelain gaiwan made with Dehua kaolin and finished in a soft pink ice-jade glaze. In the hand it’s thin and bright; on the table it glows with a pearl-like translucence. Fill it and the liquor turns the walls a warm amber, exactly as shown in the photos.
De Hua Ice Jade Porcelain
This is porcelain, not glass. The body is a vitrified Dehua porcelain that’s been fired hot enough to become slightly translucent, hence the “ice-jade” look. That glassy sheen can be mistaken for borosilicate, but you’ll notice the classic unglazed foot ring, the bell-like ring when tapped, and the way it holds and radiates heat more evenly than glass.

Delicate walls with a smooth, opalescent glaze; a faint blush appears along the rim and lid button.

When tea is inside, the porcelain “lights up,” giving the liquid a luminous depth that’s great for judging color.

The lid seats cleanly for controlled pouring and excellent aroma capture.
Brewing notes
Porcelain is neutral and won’t tint flavors, so this gaiwan works for everything from young sheng to fragrant oolongs. Pre-warm first for best heat retention, use a relaxed thumb-on-lid grip, and enjoy a crisp, drip-free pour.
Care
Hand wash or rinse with warm water after use. Avoid abrasives on the glaze and don’t shock from boiling to cold water. Minor variations in glaze pooling and tone are part of the handmade character.
