2016 Cha Yu Lin "Yi Lu Feng Jue" Hunan Fu Brick Tea
Cha Yu Lin is a small An Hua area tea producer that produces their own Fu Cha, Tian Jian and Qian Liang (and Bai Liang) Cha. They have been producing teas under this brand since 2005. Their attention to care and detail in their productions is admirable and we are proud to be able to offer this incredibly delightful Fu Brick!
This 380 gram tea brick is composed entirely of spring harvest material from Yun Tai mountain in An Hua county of Hunan. The tea was fermented, then pressed into bricks where the golden flowers flourish in the inner section of the brick where the conditions are just right to support them. After a few days the Golden Flowers have thrived the bricks are dried gradually using a temperature of 37C which gradually halts the spread of the flowers without damaging them or the tea leaves.
Yi Lu Feng Jue 一路封爵 means something like "bestowing noble ranks successively," referring to continuously gaining a higher and higher rank as one progresses through their life or career.
Yi Lu Feng Jue is different from other Fu Brick because the material used is grade 1 Hunan mao cha, which is a tippy grade of leaves that would typically be used for making Tian Jian teas. Although the grade of leaves used is similar to Tian Jian, the processing is that of Fu brick. The brewed tea soup is orange in color, with a fruity sweetness and some astringency is over-steeped. We recommend shorter steeps at first with this tea to help gradually release its essence.
380 grams per brick. (if you want an intact brick please choose the "1 Brick (380 Grams" option).
