Special production just for the year 2011.  This is made of a tippy blend of Menghai area wet piled ripe pu-erh tea.  The blend likely contains some already aged (at the time of pressing) teas, which gives it a fruity sweetness and long lasting camphor and wood taste and aroma.  The tea is very thick and permeates the mouth with it's creamy character.  The mouth-feel is comforting and long-lasting.  Cha Qi is notable, but not aggressive.

With so many Da Yi productions to choose from this is a sure bet for aging or enjoying now!

Xin Hai Bai Nian refers to the 100th Anniversary of the 1911 Revolution which marked the end of Qing Dynasty and the start of China's post-dynasty era (modern era).

Sweet and Strong

"Tried several shou samples a few years ago. This one stood out with a sweet fruity notes well balanced with wood and earth. Some mineral, not too forward. The way I like it. Smells like a forest wafting out of the teacup."

A Dayi Gem

"I tried a sample set of Dayi special releases. This was by far my favorite. In addition to the usual complexity of a Dayi tea, it had some lovely caramel, vanilla, and a long lasting hui gan."

A really nice buttery nuttiness

"This one just about hit me like a ton of bricks. A real creamy nutty and a little dried figgy flavor. Definitely recommend."

100th Anniversary Masterpiece

"The tea masters at Menghai Tea Factory did the Anniversary proud. I am telling you this may be my favorite tippy blend shou's ever. Scott's review and the customers reviews tell the tale of this delicious tea. A very nice sweet fruity taste, with a woody boldness that coats the tongue and lingers while you continue tasting this masterpiece . I am compelled to order a tong because if this tea gets better with age, it 'will go down as a classic' and the price will skyrocket, if it doesn't sell out first."

Fabulous!

"I was encouraged to purchase this cake after reading the two previous reviews. Initially, I did an open gaiwan brew for 4 minutes with boiling de-ionized water because of it's aggressive leaching capacities. Second infusion for 10 minutes. This makes a very powerful elixir that lasted me all day. Exquisite taste. Peerless! All that one could hope for in a matured ripe Pu-erh: very, very smooth. A deep, dark, rich tea that engages the entire sensorium! I'll be ordering more. Yumbo! Thanks, Scott!"

This is amazing

"Breaking the cake apart, which is as easy as it is satisfying, reveals differently aged and slightly differently graded leaves, but what really stands out are the small, even and so beautiful golden strands that have this quality tobacco feel to them. The tea brews marvelously well, it's creamy and fruity, earthy and woodsy, with multiple layers of taste and a superb and surprising thickness. The cold hard facts : in the same order, I also got two other Menghai ripes, the 2005 "7592" and the 2006 "7262", and although they cost significantly more, and are also great teas, the 2011 "Xin Hai Bai Nian" is in my opinion in a class of its own. I would definitely recommend getting the whole cake right away : it's an amazing tea."
