2018 Yunnan Sourcing "Warm Fuzzies" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake

Pressed from 6 different ripe teas that were wet piled from 2015 to 2018! We painstakingly worked to create unique blend that would delight and fortify during long winters and tough times. A reminder that there are many delightful and lovely experiences to be had and shared if only are open and attentive to the opportunity.

Although this is a newish tea, it's incredibly textured and complex. The ripe teas used in this blend vary from gong ting (smallest leaf grade) up to grade 7 (larger), and come from three distinct regions in Yunnan (Lincang, Simao and Xishuangbanna). The result is a thick and balanced tea with notes of dried fruit, tropical wood, sugarcane, umami and much more!

Rich, thick, soft sweetness

"I could drink this every day for a while. It's soft, smooth, rich, dark. The forest flavor is more background and there's certainly a strong note of sweet, without being too sweet. The bitterness is so subtle it's almost not there but does add some complexity, which I like. I would say the caffeine effect is moderate and pleasant, coming from someone who can't drink regular black tea or coffee due to the too-strong caffeine effect."

Calming tea

"I really enjoy this particular shou. The title "warm fuzzies" really does fit this tea perfectly. Its energy is calming and relaxing and has a pleasant warming sensation. The flavor is full, bold, and complex without being overwhelming or having unwanted notes. This will be a great tea to drink as the weather gets cooler and snow arrives again."

"This tea is soft, soothing, silky, well rounded...and very feminine. I've never had a "yin" Ripe Pu-erh before but this is it. Yes, very balanced. "This tea somehow manages to be dry in a way that is very lubricating and soft in a way that is very direct. Also manages to be sweet in a way that’s hard to describe and unique to my experience. This tea is a total trip. I agree with the description that this tea is a special experience and one that could help you through tough times. It just has some kind of special comforting quality. Real clean for such a young tea and brews pretty long too."
