Zheng Jia Liang Zi is a small village just south of Ma Hei village and just north of Yi Wu town and Luo Shui Dong.  Zheng Jia Liang Zi was first settled by the Zheng family from Shiping town (Honghe) in 1730. It was at this time that the first tea trees were planted in this area.  In 1985 a small road was completed to the area.  In total there are 16 families living in the village.  Our production is output of two families and is entirely early October 2016 picked tea.

Our Zheng Jia Liang Zi tea cake is a classic Yi Wu Zheng Shan taste and shares some characteristics with Ma Hei tea.  Strong, balanced, with a slight bitterness that's countered by a grass and orchid sweetness.  Fast hui gan and a long-lasting mouthfeel.

This tea was compressed in a small tea factory in Yi Wu town where unusually large 40 kilogam stone presses were used. Low temperature (35C) “baking” was used to dry these cakes after the compression process thus preserving their integrity! In total just 30 kilograms of this tea has been produced. We have delayed sales of this cake for more than 4 weeks to allow the water vapor from pressing to dissipate. Further aging will only improve this wonderful tea!

Just 15 kilos in total produced!

250 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo tong)

This tea has been tested in a certified laboratory for 191 pesticides, and is within the EU MRL limits set for those 191 pesticide residues. For a full list of the 191 pesticides we tested for and more information about MRL testing and the EU Food and Safety commission click on this link.

Beautiful and Powerful Tea.

"I loved sampling this fresh young raw puerh...really. I used 6 grams in a small porcelain gaiwan...steeped 10 times or so... Initially it is surprisingly sweet with fast steeps at around 205f. There is definitely bitter and astringent qualities but they are so lovely! There is a beautiful lasting sweetness that I really enjoy next to some of the more biting qualities. Very fun to drink."
