We are proud to offer a Certified Organic Green Tea from Yunnan.  This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in March.

This is a robust style of Yunnan Green tea (云南碧螺春), which is a Yunkang #10 varietal growing at an altitude of 1300 meters (4300 feet) on the southern slope Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu'Er City).  The processing is typical of green tea with sun withering, rolling, oxidization, and finally drying.

This is a classic "Robust" style Yunnan Bi Luo Chun (rolled) Green Tea, with a mix of 1 leaf to 1 bud and 2 leaf to 1 bud plucking style.  It's floral, beany, grassy and sweet when brewed carefully.  We recommend brewing gong fu style (short steepings at first) using 85C water and 4 grams per 100ml vessel. It can be brewed 6 to 8 times gong fu style, which is alot for a green tea!

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and are certified organic to international standards (EcoCert is IFOAM accredited).**

My Favorite Green Tea

"This is the tea I nearly always begin my day with making. This tea is both very smooth and strong (I often refer to it as my "expresso green tea"). I was first given this type of tea when I visited a Chinese university in 2005 and I have been drinking this type of tea ever since. I was very disappointed when Yunnan Sourcing wasn't able to sell the organic selection of this tea in 2024 and pleased to see that it was offered in 2025."

My new daily tea ! It's great.

"This is a great discovery for me. Bi Luo Chun is my favourite green tea but it is often riddled with chemicals and not affordable at all. With the pandemic, it's almost impossible to find. This tea is at the same time sweet, astringent and smooth just like a nice Bi Luo Chun from it's original terroir. I absolutely love it and will become my daily tea for years to come. Drink it "grandpa" style and you can observe the quality of the leaves and enjoy the fluff of the buds floating in the liquor. Will definitely order again in Yunnan Sourcing's site"

As a daily tea drinker

"As a daily tea drinker I drink this tea nearly everyday, although I have many other types of tea in my tea chest. I call it my "expresso green tea" as it really wakes me up in the morning with an excellent flavor. And knowing that it is organic is especially important to me. I have been buying and drinking this tea for the past 10 years."

simply good

"I've got nothing to complain about this tea. I think all of the above stated taste charactizations fitting. It's a very sweet, floral aroma, that stays in the mouth for a long time and stays consistent through as much as 4 brews using ~3g/120ml. Would buy again"

delicious and very high quality

"This is an awesome tea, it strikes a good balance between being mellow and being robust. It's smooth and easy to brew with no bitterness, yet at the same time there are distinct, sharply herbaceous notes that give this tea a great flavor profile. It is an excellent daily drinker. I liked brewing it western style more than gongfu style but it works very well either way. The buds are rolled tight and the leaf quality is superb. The leaf edges are bruised without being torn or crushed for the most part, which is a sign of good processing technique. Overall a very good organic green tea at an excellent price to quality ratio."

Simple and marvellous

"It is impressive, floral, with a sweetness, body stays in the mouth and with a touch of astringency. Simply from Yunnan, organic straight from the earth to your palate."

Gotta buy it

"Super great quality tea, mostly one bud and one leaf. This tea has a lingering sweet aftertaste that is amazing. I get notes of sweet corn and it’s very grassy. Just about no bitterness brewed at 6grams/100 ml. Overall very happy with this purchase!"
