Entirely wild arbor tea material from 100 to 250 year old tea trees in Yi Bang village (an area of north Yi Wu).  Expertly processed by the mother of the Li family in a copper wok by hand.  The tea was picked and processed across a period of one week.  Tea leaves are stout, with thick stems and olive green appearance.  Tea has strong mouthfeel and pungent aroma.  Not typically autumn in it's character.  Strong cha qi!

This Yi Bang tea is special in that it is not large leaf varietal but rather a primitive small leaf varietal that has grown in this area for hundreds if not thousands of years. Like other small leaf varietal wild arbor tea trees in Yunnan (Jing Mai), the flavor is lighter and more smooth, but the aroma is pungent and fruity.

This tea was compressed in a small tea factory in Yi Wu town where unusually large 40 kilogam stone presses were used. Low temperature (35C) “baking” was used to dry these cakes after the compression process thus preserving their integrity! In total just 30 kilograms of this tea has been produced. We have delayed sales of this cake for more than 4 weeks to allow the water vapor from pressing to dissipate. Further aging will only improve this wonderful tea!

Just 20 kilos in total produced!

250 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo tong)

Wrapper Design by Neusa Trovoada of Portugal

2017 was for sure a magical year when it comes to Pu-erh

"Bouquet: Everything starts with a very ripe sweet atmosphere like windfalls of pears, grapes but also a very distinct dried fruit aspect of it as raisins, figs and plums. Within the second steeping very deep hearty flavors showing their potential with hints of grilled fish and baked sweet potatoes at first but later more transforming into sweet potatoes mixed with kohlrabi, different types of green salads like arugula (rucola), red chard, bulls blood, young spinach but also dark forest honey, tree resin, hints of bamboo and a very deliciously mix like a of breeze of vanilla, tonka bean and orange blossom. Liquor: Those magical dark thick and strong yellow ocher colored cups exhale such a lovely distinct mix of orange blossoms, lime blossom honey and acacias honey and beeswax with a lovely tiny hint of cinnamon within its echo. Slightly coating and thick liquor. But the fruity aspect also plays a very strong role within this highly enjoyable act. It's like a fine fusion between so many things like jackfruit, mango but also very ripe pears and baked apples with honey glaze but also sweet layers of corn syrup and hints of marshmallows but more the plant version of it. It is quite easy to oversteep this buddy so be careful! Another great example of how amazing 2017 turned out for Pu-erh production ~ Cheers More Reviews & Photos at https://www.instagram.com/zerozen_artlab/"
