Punches above its weight

"Cute brick in a cardboard box. Very tightly packed, black leaf pieces. First steep brews a thick, dark chestnut brown (slight reddish color). Strong and flavorful with a mouth-watering sweetness. A bit of an appetizing grain cereal quality, a bit woody. Warming feeling in the mouth and down the throat. Tasty with a creamy body. This definitely "punches above its weight class" for ripe puerh."

Amazing

"Brewed this tea in an unglazed clay gaiwan, 11g/120ml. First and second steep had some leathery notes in them, then it «opened up» and the taste became nutty with some caramel and dried plum in it. The brew is very thick, full-bodied and looks like strong cofee: very dark, chocolate-colored. Got 15 steeps out of it, two last ones were out of curiosity though. Definitely will buy more of this outstanding pu'er."

Subtly fruity, Creamy, Vanilla

"If you were like me, at the beginning of your ripe puerh journey, and heard people describe these earthy, mushroomy brews with words like "Creamy" or yet, "Vanilla"(WHAT?), your irritation may have gradually increased as you sampled more and more ripes. Clearly this is just embellishments to describe an otherwise homogenized tea genre. ...Until, I tried this brick. There really is some sort of fragrant, vanilla like, cream-like/buttery essence to this ripe tea. I don't get the camphor so much as others describe, but perhaps some subtle fruit and creaminess. Agree with the other reviewer about overbrewing. I find the best parameters for this tea is larger amount of leaf, and short infusions."

A sweet-Peary tea for a

"A sweet-Peary tea for a pleasant afternoon. Beware with the water and the quantity: it can loose its unique taste if over brewed."
