smells like magic
"Brew it hot, long, and with lots of leaf. My final session with it was the best, using 8g in 130ml yixing. Wet leaf aroma is absolutely phenomenal. A camphor - Jujube aroma with a hint of something like big red cinnamon chewing gum. I just kept smelling the pot brew after brew and the aroma did not fade across many infusions. A mystical aroma that developed over decades of ageing. The tea has a faded quality to it, as if it has mellowed out considerably over the years, making it quite gentle. I drifted into some sort of calm soft happy place place drinking this tea. Quite unique in terms of qi. I am glad I got a sample. Was strongly contemplating a whole brick, but there are so many other teas to try. I Highly recommend a sample if you want to know what well aged puer can feel and smell like. At this level ageing it has sort of gone beyond shu or sheng."

Nice, but a bit too mild
"Opened very slowly, and never quite completely, even brewed with 100C water. A mild tea, with some complexity developing during later (7+) steeps. Has a 'dusty,' aged taste, but nothing overwhelming. It's pleasant; however, it was not outstanding enough that I'd get it again at this price."

Great tea
"This is a great tea with complex aromas, awesome mouthfeel, and a balanced taste. The aroma is cooling, floral, and sweet with notes of leather, old books, jiaogulan, and honey. Taste is slightly sour and bitter with a tannic finish. Flavours include those of fenugreek, coriander seeds, and camphor, complemented by wood, peat, and molasses after swallowing. It is a long-lasting, metallic, and spicy aftertaste that induces a warming sensation. The liquor texture is extremely soft, lubricating, and mouth-watering – very nice."

deep and dark
"This tea was nice and smooth, dark and deep, with many brews and a nice Qi."

Smooth but powerful
"This tea is invigorating and powerful, but it has very light aroma and taste, so, If honest, it was difficult for me to distinguish them. Also, I guess this tea is highly demanding on water temperature and requires almost 100°С water. In general, this tea is good, but I personally prefer more pronounced flavors."

Best Shou I've ever tried!
"After trying this, I just have to post my first comment here. To make it short: What a fantastic Shou Pu-erh! Anyone thinking not liking Shou should try this one, you will be amazed, I promise. This is something entirely different in comparison to your usual, simple, mostly young "ripe blends". Like the previous reviewer, I actually don't know where to start describing this tea. It just has it all, no real flaw. I cannot detect much bitterness as in Scott's description though. Maybe he tried it years ago? It's mellow, round, very complex, not fishy at all (obviously, just wanted to mention), perfectly aged for my taste. You know, sometimes these soft and mellow ripes are a bit dull, one-dimensional and uninsteresting - not this one. It has retained it's power well, delivering in every aspect."

Beautiful Pu-erh
"The tea soup is a beautiful deep garnet color and the flavor is quite beyond my capacity to describe. It is "round" and lovely without any edges - that's about the best I can do. Yunnan Sourcing's care for the product is evident, too, in the way the tea is packaged. No damage whatsoever - not just for the brick but for the leafy teas included in the shipment."
