These "Cu Tao" clay cha hai were fired in wood burning kiln.  Being porous these can be seasoned and dedicated for a certain type of tea.  Would be best suited to Raw Pu-erh, Oolongs or Black tea, but could be used for any type of tea.  If you don't want to dedicate it for just one type of tea you can just rinse well in-between sessions.

Each piece is unique and may differ somewhat from the pictures!

Volume is 160ml (+/- 10ml)

Overall rating: 5.0 / 5 from 5 reviews.

Unique

"Very versátil, imparts an unmistakable minerality when brewed in, serves very well as a cooling cup, sharing cup and water source when I’m cooking. Also a nice looking cup. I’m glad I added it to my tea ware."

beautiful

"I love this cha hai. I would like more tea wares like this: cups, a gaiwan. It's rustic, yet very thin and well made."

Q&A

Is this Dai clay? I've gotten used to seeing them associated with wood fired wares. But I'm not familiar with what "cu tao" is.
It's a mix of clay with a high amount of sand. Just enough to make it very porous, but without compromising it's strength and integrity.
