My everyday pot for almost everything

"This is my everyday pot now. Tea from this pot is distinctly different than my clay, glass, and glazed pots. There are few if any ghosts of old teas. It brings out the flavor and nuance. You may need to change the temperatures and seep times slightly, but I have nearly uniformly enjoyed the results. Silver is the best heat conduction of any metal. When you add water, the pot becomes a completely uniform hot, including the lid, so care is required. It also has the lowest emissivity of any metal, which basically means that it retains the heat for a long time. Combined with the fact it is not porous, it gives a unique brewing experience. For me, it was eye opening. This pot has a lot of silver, about ½ pound. Scene is intricate and what you see in the photos is what you get. The relief is deep and sharp, and I think it looks better without the factory tarnish. It is easy to remove with the baking soda and aluminum foil method you can find on YouTube. We have no chlorine in our water, so tarnishing is very slow and easily reversed. Despite the description on all the silver pots on the site, the lid fit is tight. The flat pot rim and flat lid flange generally don’t leak. The exceptions for me are LongJing because it blocks up the strainer and my impatience backs up water on the lip, or if you get bits of leaves on the face. The mouth is large enough to easily load large leaf teas and makes is easy to empty and clean. My one criticism of the pot is that the taper of the spout produces a distinct knee in the stream. A question aesthetics, and I think increases the tendency of drips at the beginning and end of pours. Silver pots are expensive, but for me it's worth it. With adjustments, I have gotten good results with everything so far. Decent ceramic pots are expensive too, and I have broken a couple over the years. I am not worried with this one, and it is the one I plan to travel with."
