Volume is 130ml (+/- 10ml)

Every pot is hand-made and the artisan will sometimes change the stamps they use. There may also be some slight differences in the color, handle shape, and volume. It's not possible for us to re-take the pictures for each new batch of teapots that we receive from this artisan. Some differences in the color and shininess of the actual teapot you receive as compared to the one in the photographs may also be due to light conditions when the photographs are taken. Thanks for your understanding!

Very good value

"I bought this teapot for my camping car, just after breaking an F1. Didn't expect much for this price point, but it turned out to be a very good one. Particularly, the craftmanship is excellent (keeping in mind that's a 60€ teapot of course) and, more important, it is proof that modern clays are almost as good as old ones. I use it for young sheng puh, did a 48h seasoning in simmering water."

Nicoló (5/5)

So cute!

"So cute! I love it and can't wait for the seasoning to build up in the pot overtime. This is my first Yixing teapot, so I am very excited about it. So far it has worked beautifully."

Wonderful Starter Teapot

"This little fellow is a great tea pot for the price. For so long, I was driven to brew my pu-erh teas in a gaiwan because of how expensive yixing teapots seemed to be. Though, this pot doesn't have fancy embellishments or decoration, it's rather affordable, all things considering. I personally find the simplicity rather beautiful and sleek. I've had this little pot only two years and already it has a lovely patina on the inside of the pot as I've come to use it more than I expected I would. If you're unsure about trying to brew in a clay pot, try this one out. It's well made, pours smoothly, the lid fits tight and it's beautiful to boot."

Small but compelling

"This teapot is a little wonder. My hands are pretty small but I can hardly imagine the care needed to make such a perfect little pot. It's delightfully round and very aesthetically pleasing. Less grainy than the photos seem to depict. The pour is also smooth and pleasant. I've made a few types of oolong and it very well may be my imagination but I feel like the flavors are slightly 'softened', in a good way. Any hint of bitterness seems removed. Pressing the hole on the lid stops the pour but there is some very slow dripping if you hold it. I'm far from a yixing expert but I am loving this pot. I have found myself petting it. So smooth."

Q&A

The recommended use says Puerh or Oolong, but what kind of sheng would be best with this pot? young or aged?
It would be fine for both young and aged sheng. If using young sheng it will probably tone down the astringency and sweeten it up a bit.
What is the different between hey jin gang clay and lao zini ? Is hey jin gang clay not original pure yixing purple sand ?
Hei Jin Gang Clay 黑金钢沙 is a blend of Zi Ni (Purple Clay) and Bao Lan Zhu Ni
Is this good for brewing ripe pu erh or are the walls too thin? Thanks!
It's good for brewing pu-erh tea (ripe and raw). The walls are not thin at all, the heat retention is excellent.
Is this teapot too big for individual brewing of pu erh? If it’s not; how many ounces of tea should I use in the teapot?
It's good for 1 or 2 people. I would use 5 to 8 grams depending on the tea and the desired strength and steeping time.
