This is from a small Menghai area tea factory where tea from all over Menghai county in Xishuangbanna (Bu Lang, Ba Da, Nan Nuo and other areas) underwent 46 days of wet piling (wo dui) to transform it in to a lovely ripe pu-erh.

Tea was aged in Menghai (until 2016) and then Kunming (until now).  With it's current age the "wo dui" taste (freshly wet piled aka composted) is completely gone and the tea brews up a clear burgundy red.  The taste is that of dried fruit, chocolate bitter, and wood, with a sweetness in the after-taste.

Tea is Grade 3 size tea leaves (neither big nor small).  An enjoyable and accessible ripe pu-erh tea that's great to drink now, but will continue to improve with further storage.

This Tea Was Best In A Silver Plated Coffee Pot

"As an update to my previous review of this tea, its umami notes got stronger when brewed in a silver plated coffee pot. It went from meh to pretty good when I tried this myself."

Educational For Camphor Note

"I got this ripe tea because of the unusual green color of its leaves, the smaller leaf grade, & the appealing flavor notes mentioned in its description; in particular, I was seeking out more teas with a pronounced wood note & medicinal feel to them. I was surprised upon tasting this tea that its actually got a dominant camphor note/slight cooling mintyness. Its also got that nice gentle basement-like earthiness common to ripes but it takes a backseat. Sometimes I taste a fleeting hint of smoke, sweetness, or umami. The color of this tea is true to its description: green leaves, dark brown liquid. Flavor wasn't a favorite for me so the only reason I'd repurchase this tea is if I needed to educate someone on what a camphor note is. And I have a tip for people that try this tea themselves, eat an avocado with it."

Let this one age a little longer

"As much as I like this tea, I agree with other reviews that perhaps additional aging would make it a bit better balanced. Still, a good tea on its own."

Missing something

"I agree with Linda, nothing bad here but has a hole in the middle. Maybe more aging will improve that, but for now I'd prefer something else."

Not bad, a little thin in flavor

"I like this okay. There are no off flavors, but to me it lacks depth and richness compared with some others I’ve purchased here."
