This exquisite black tea is made from first flush of spring harvest tea leaves. Simao area pure bud material. Picked when the tea is still just tender little buds, the tea is processed with great care to produce this lovely rolled Bi Luo Chun Black tea.

The taste is potent but smooth with hints of sugarcane and milk chocolate!

For best results we recommend using about 4 to 5 grams per 100ml of water when brewing.

Very good.

"This tea was wonderful. Almost a 4. 5/5."

One of the best red

"One of the best red teas I’ve tasted. Flavor is a little bit chocolate. It is better to wash it before stewing to remove tea dust, but is great anyway"

Superb depth of flavor

"This tea has so much depth of flavor! I love to brew it gongfu style in my 60mL teapot. I typically use about ~3g of tea leaves. I found three primary tasting notes in the tea. First of all, there was a primary flavor of dark chocolate. This sometimes manifested itself as a slightly bright note with a little bit of acidity and other times is more deep and coffee-like. On infusion three or four, the balance of these flavors is perfect! Secondly, I noticed a flavor of grain and malt that was great. And last of all, a few of the infusions had very slightly berry notes. The aroma of the infused leaves is malty and like grain and is very deep. The dry leaves have a wonderful cocoa aroma. This tea is more expensive than other red teas from Yunnan Sourcing but makes up for it with its incredible and evolving flavor characteristics. The other teas are great too. However, this one is much more deep and less monotone. I will definitely buy more!"

Q&A

I thought Bi Luo Chun's were all green teas but this is a black tea. Please explain. Bonus question, are there any green Jin Jun Mei's?
Our grower calls it's Dan Ya (Pure Bud) Bi Luo Chun, so we simply translated the name. It's common in Yunnan for tightly rolled teas (whether green or black) to be called "Bi Luo Chun". It's possible that there is a green tea made from the same plants as are used to create Jin Jun Mei black tea, but I don't know of any. The world of tea is vast!
