We've used Spring 2019 Yong De county of Lincang harvested tea to press these handy little mini ripe tea cakes!  Don't let the small size fool you, these 11 gram mini cakes are perfect small-scale replicas of pu-erh tea cakes (right down to the beenghole in the back).  Unlike mini tuo where leaves mush be crushed a bit to conform to the small pressing molds used, these mini cakes feature the same grade material as what we would use in a 250 or 357 gram cake!

Their small size is convenient for taking on the road, gifting to friends, or just convenient for brewing without needing a pick.   They can be broken in half if you prefer to use less tea.  The smaller size also means that they will age a bit faster than larger cakes and bricks.

The tea itself is full-bodied, thick, with earth and dried fruit notes.  It's a pungent complex tea that is worthy of consideration by discerning ripe pu-erh tea drinkers!

Each mini cake is roughly 11 grams (+/- 1 gram).

These are sold by weight and the weight of the wrapper is factored into the weight (but the wrapper weight is only 0.36 grams).

Total Production Quantity: 200 Kilograms

No Brainer great tea

"Some days I want to think about tea and learn about tea, and sometimes I want to try something new or complex or unusual. But some days I just want a hearty, tasty, rich and robust morning cup. This is that tea, my no brainer, reliable comfort cup."

I like tea from the Yunnan Province!

"I have been drinking tea for the past few decades. Discovered Yunnan teas through Harney & Sons. Discovered Pu-erh teas about two years ago and found the teas I'll be drinking for the rest of my life. Somewhere along the way I took a chance on some Yunnan mini-cakes and some even smaller cakes. They provided a 'quick' alternative to breaking off from much larger cakes and blocks. I tend to go with Ripe Pu-erhs and so far have not found any of the ripe Yunnan Pu-erhs displeasing. The mini cakes are great for traveling, backpacking and work: handy, simple and easy with no 'mess'. And, as I mentioned, a nice alternative. It will be a while before I buy more as I tend to buy in quanity and I have a bunch to get through before I'll need more. Plus I'm 77, so I probably should not get too ahead of myself. Thanks."

Absolutely delicious tea

"I love this tea! It might be my favorite! I love how dark the tea soup is and it’s so creamy. It tastes like dark chocolate and sweet plum. I agree that it has a full body and it’s thick. I would get a whole cake of this but the cakes are sold out. This tea comes already portioned out perfectly in little mini bings. This tea warms my belly and I recommend it to all my friends."

It’s more than fine

"Decent tea not much complexity but it’s very inexpensive and new so what do you expect? I’m happy with this tea I drink it almost every day at work and it’s still delicious."

Caramel and fruit notes.

"I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the cake opened up, the tea soup was deeply coloured like a great coffee. The tea was not in tiny bits and full of stems, it was light brown and big pieces of leaves without any hint of musk. I kept getting caramel notes while brewing and fruity notes in the taste as well. I could not wait to age this tea and my only complaint is I will end up drinking it all before it could age because it is so good I will have too hard of a time resisting. I already added more to my cart. LOVE IT."

Very yummy

"I received it as a sample. Definitely on my next buy. No wet pile taste. Sweet & lubricating. Not superficial, but deep flavors. Kept me interested until the taste faded. Great 👍"
