We are proud to announce our second ever pressing of "Green Miracle!" To celebrate this year, we selected a wild arbor sourced Ripe Pu-erh tea from two first flush of Spring 2019 harvested wet-pile batches and pressed into this lovely 357 gram cake.

Tea leaves from 50 to 70 years old tea trees were harvested in April 2019, then wet-piled through the summer. The tea was then aged in loose form for a few months before pressing this year.

The upfront feeling and taste is bitter, thick and pungent. Spring tea processed into ripe pu-erh is rare and tea leaves harvested from tea trees with some age is also quite rare. Fermentation was done carefully to preserve the green/raw character in the tea leaves. Strong good clean taste and pure cha qi makes this an interesting ripe pu-erh to drink now and will certainly continue to age and develop with a complexity that is likely make it a stand out cake for years to come!

The tea tastes excellent and

"The tea tastes excellent and is high quality. Delivery was delayed, but overall I’m satisfied."

Clean, young, green

"Clean, young. Quite green ? Not in the chocolaty cream area. Nice perfume. Good session but not a fan of greenness in a ripe."

Gilbert B. (4/5)

Clean ripe puerh

"This was a clean drink from the get go, I could have drunk the rinse. It delivered the ripe comfort of a well-fermented puerh in a medium-bodied mouthful, holding its flavors well through several steeps and without any unpleasant mustiness. Was hoping to discover the "wild" character but it delivered great balance instead, offering more liveliness than the typical factory shou. Are these the days of living wild? Whatever it is, I'm glad I picked up a cake."

Terence T. (4/5)

Easy-drinking and sweet.

"I'm relatively new to Puerh but find this tea an exceptional daily option. While easy to drink, it still maintains some complexity so it is interesting (see some other reviews for better tasting notes than I know how to give). No bitterness. No fish taste. Will be ordering a cake to drink now and one to store. I bet this tea will age well."

Green vegetables and qi

"Yah really nice. Mixed green vegetables and notes of herbs and spices. Best cha qi I came across yet. Probbaly could do with with some ageing but not sure what that would do to it"

Mark S. (5/5)

Nice ripe, long-lasting sweetness

"Dry and wet nose are earthy, like forest floor, with a little mushroom. Brews a burnt-caramel colored soup that is full and creamy in the mouth. For me, smooth tastes of chocolate and pumpernickel bread with a nice, really long-lingering hui gan. 2nd session was similar, with more wood taste that also produced a warm feeling in my body. Husband likes this one too, so ordering cakes as a daily drinker."

Kat R. (5/5)

Masterpiece

"Love this tea, it’s a sweet garden with a very positive lingering taste - don’t hesitate, this tea is ready right now (if you are)"

Cary K. (5/5)

Viscous tea with a long-lasting sweetness

"This tea reminds me of Yang Luo Han a bit, but it’s definitely sweeter and has a less complex profile and muted aromas. On the other hand, the mouthfeel is sublime – buttery and very viscous. Similarly, the aftertaste is strong and long-lasting. In some sense that’s where most of the enjoyment of this tea comes from – the mouthfeel and the aftertaste. As I tend to prioritize those, I am really liking it. However, if you are looking for a more direct and casual enjoyment from your shou, this may not be the one to deliver that. The taste is woody and nutty with notes of char and cocoa butter. There is sweetness already, but it really intensifies in the aftertaste, which is also a bit tart with a light fermentation and mushroom notes to it."

Fantastic ripe

"Wonderful lasting flavor, little dryness with a well rounded sweetness that surprised even me. Not much to say other than easy drinking, but complex if you take time to notice the Nuances. Fig, chocolate, and notes of deep molasses."
