Ba Da Mountain First Flush of Spring 2015 tea leaves were picked and processed into mao cha (loose leaf raw pu-erh tea) and then aged for 5 years in Menghai County of Xishuangbanna before being pressed in March 2020.

The storage condition in Menghai was clean with a moderate amount of humidity (wetter than Kunming, but not as wet as Guangdong) giving the tea a nice rounded lightly aged taste!

This is strong tea with bitterness and even more astringency! The 5 years of aging prior to pressing has taken some of the edge off and imparted a fruity, thick mineral sweetness. We recommend brewing with short steeps at the beginning to gradually coax out the more subtle aspects of this wonderful tea!

Nice. Balanced flavors. Recommended. While

"Nice. Balanced flavors. Recommended. While softer than other young shengs because it was aged for five years before pressing, I still recommend lower brewing temperatures for best results: about 85c is my "sweet spot." Maybe a few more degrees for the initial rinse. Excellent service! Delivery in a week to Thailand!"

patience is key

"When we first cracked op this tea my wife and I were a bit disappointed. The taste was good but very lite. Only to get hit by a bomb of aroma around the 4th infusion. Fist notes: Almond, ock, minerals Secondary notes: blue Barry, caramel, popcorn Tertiaire notes: rose, orchid Very nice tea that can handle a good brew. Don't be scared to push this sleeping giant a bit. I got a very consistent brew (after 4th steep) until the 8the brew and than until the 11th to 13th brew."

Middle aged that starts out good.

"Nice and pungent upfront yet not very astringent and no bitterness, while mellow starting around steep 7. There is a tiny hint of smokeyness hiding in the backround, and a mouth watering sensation. The sweet light hay flavor comes out more in later steepings. A little taste of aged raw, while giving strength of a young.
