We are proud to offer a Certified Organic "Te Zhi" Ripe Pu-erh Tea from Yunnan.  This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April 2019, and wet piled in the summer of 2019.  This is a "special recipe" blend of ripe pu-erh tea that has a very potent cha qi, with a thick tea soup, dark chocolate like bitterness and fruity sweetness.

The leaves used in this tea cake were harvested from organically cultivated tea pure assamica varietal tea bushes growing at an altitude 1300-1350 meters (4300-4450 feet) on summit of Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu'Er City).  The tea is picked and processed into sun-dried mao cha, and then wet piled (wu dui) for 45 days, transforming it into ripe pu-erh tea (熟普洱).

250 Grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and are certified organic to international standards (EcoCert is IFOAM accredited).**

Orchard song was great

"Orchard song was great"

Hard to overbrew, overarching sweetness

"I like that this tea is very hard to overbrew. It just gets muskier and muskier, with no bitterness even if steeped for longer. I wasn't too impressed by the taste, though. It's nice if you prefer a very soft overarching sweetness, but I got a little bored with it. It lacked nuance."

Mattias T. (3/5)

Clean, dark, and relaxing

"Strong ripe puer. All the notes you expect out of a ripe. Not too much of a heady feel. A bit of body feel. Good for anxiety. You will be relaxed. Brew with a lower temperature if you want a mellow chill tea session. Higher temperature will give you a super strong ripe to the max taste."

Really like this tea

"A flavorful, roubust shou. Holds up well after many steeps."

Très beau Pu Er avec

"Très beau Pu Er avec une robe foncée et un goût subtil de terre séchée. A boire, il offre une agréable rondeur en bouche et ne décline pas même après plusieurs infusions.."

MARTIN Y. (5/5)

Nice one

"Very dark color. Some personality with a smoothness. A nice tea - Brewed GFC, silver teapot and porcelain cup, 90/95C, 5g per 100ml"

pleasantly surprised

"Really pleasantly surprised by this one. Bought randomly as a cheaper daily drinker; indifferent when I tried soon after i got it so I tossed in a corner for a while to settle down. When I came back to it months later, really beautiful! Base of dark scandivian malt bread, forest earth, nice rich golden treacle, and a really lovely apricot jam and raisin aroma. strong, pure, nice cha qi. Give it a chance to rest, maybe age a bit! Can we get a slightly cooler label for this one?"

John H. (5/5)

Delicious

"This tea surprised me. Whereas it first appears dark and mellow, it has a surprising amount of flavor. It must be gongfu-ed. Black cherry, licorice, bark, chocolate, a little vegetal. I will definitely order again"

A real Pu Er tea as I like

"Excellent Pu Er tea, very nice color, pleasant to drink, no bitterness. Can be infused several times. A real well done for health..."
