A traditional process one leaf / one bud ratio black tea from the high Wu Liang mountains of Zhenyuan (in Simao prefecture).  Lightly wilted the leaves still have a slight greenish color amongst the vivid brown-red color.  The traditional processing gives the tea nice floral aroma and taste and allows for longer term aging.  This tea can be drunk for several years, and will have noticeable changes (and improvements) for up to 2 years!

A Warming Companion for Autumn and Winter

"This light bark-brown black tea easily withstands five infusions: the first three with 90 °C water and the last two with 100 °C. This excellent tea is a reliable companion for the cooler, gloomier autumn and winter seasons. Its flavor is deep, sweet, chocolatey, with mild almond and spicy notes. It is not a fruity or floral tea. Those who enjoy this flavor profile will surely come to appreciate it — I personally like it very much."

A great everyday tea

"I decided to order this awhile back when looking for a good everyday tea. I mainly use this for iced tea since i live in a hot area. I find that this tea stands up to ice very well, and while it is not the most complex tea out there, it still taste great. Along with that, this tea is sold for a economical price compared to other leaves. I would describe the flavor as thick and earthy, with an aftertaste of rose. It pairs very well with spicy foods."

Complex, Sweet, Toasty

"For some reason my favorite Yunnan black teas always come from Simao. There's something about the richness and chocolatey notes in their teas that are just heavenly. This tea is no exception - with tons of complexity, I'm excited to see how this one ages! Initial notes are malty and sweet, but if you steep it longer more tangy and roasty notes come out. It has a thick mouthfeel and a sweet flavor profile. Really impressed!"

"Excellent overall! Great "dark chocolatey" flavors. I can drink this all day and get 5 or 6 brews out of 5 grams of leaves in a 12oz cup. Will buy again, but I got a rather large bag of it that should last me a while. Photo is a POV of the 4th cup."
