Da Zhang Mountain area is a scenic protected area (in Wuyuan County of Jiangxi province) with many old tea gardens which have enjoyed protected treatment as well.  No new gardens are allowed and the environment for growing tea is perfect.   Da Zhang Mountainous area reaches heights of 1700 meters, with most of the tea growing between 1000-1400 meters.

Our offering is a first flush of spring (April) wild growing black tea that is large and stout in appearance, with a relatively low level oxidation, giving the tea a slight green kick to it.  The brew tea's character is fruity, mouth-watering, umami, mineral and floral.  Very nice cha qi in this unadulterated tea!

Our very first Jiangxi tea, and a perfect introduction to this wonderful lesser known tea producing region of Wuyuan!

Excellent all round

"I enjoyed this tea a lot. But I can go a little further. I have tried this on friends who like very different types of tea. It has met the strong approval of all of them. I can therefore say this is a good all-round tea. Probably not one for everyday, due to price and rarity, but definitely one I'll be buying on a regular basis."

The description is spot on

"This is a beautiful light black. The notes on cha qi, fruity, mineral, and umami are all on the mark. Now I wish that I had purchased a larger amount."
