A high quality slightly aged ripe pu-erh tea cake from Hai Lang Hao! 2005 fermented material from Menghai in Xishuangbanna was blended to create Hai Lang's special "treasure" recipe and pressed into these lovely cakes. 11 years of aging has made this light fermentation ripe tea cake something special.

"Jin Se Zhen Ming" means "Golden Treasure Tea" and is one of two cakes pressed from the same fermentation batch. "Gold Hai Lang" has more large fermented buds than it's partner "Jin Se Zhen Min". Both of these cakes are great examples of what can be achieved using high grade raw material, small batch fermentation and time!

Tea Weight: 357 grams
Vintage: 2005 material, December 2005 pressing.

Overall rating: 4.5 / 5 from 2 reviews.

Calm and Simple

"This cake has a bit of a dominating tangy taste that stays from start to finish. There isn't much of a lasting taste on the tongue but it is very easy to drink and gentle. The caffeine and/or cha qi effect is very calming but allows you to remain focused. Overall, not my favorite but extremely functional and easy to drink in larger quantities (using western style steeping)."

Very clean, good lighter-fermented tea

"This tea is very clean, I drank the rinse which I rarely do with shou. The fermentation is on the lighter side so it has a slight bitterness to it. Soft slightly woody taste. I'd definitely recommend this cake for those who liked YS's Rooster King or other light fermentation ripes."
