“Ancient Grove” is an exceptionally limited raw pu-erh tea made entirely from the first flush of the Spring 2026 harvest. The leaves were gathered from ancient arbor tea trees estimated to be between 200 and 300 years old, growing naturally on a warm, sun-facing mountainside. We have intentionally chosen not to disclose the precise mountain, village, or garden behind this production.
This is one of the finest and most costly teas we will offer this year. Its value is not built around a famous name printed on the wrapper, but around the quality of the leaf itself: powerful old-tree material, careful traditional processing, remarkable depth, and the unmistakable presence that only truly exceptional tea can possess.
The liquor is bright, clear, and golden-yellow. Its aroma is deep and penetrating, combining wildflowers, warm honey, sweet wood, and a subtle fruit-like richness. The tea enters the mouth with an immediate sense of fullness, expanding across the palate with a dense, almost creamy texture.
Although smooth and refined, this is not a delicate or insubstantial tea. Beneath its sweetness is a firm structure, measured bitterness, and a slight astringency that quickly transforms into returning sweetness and persistent salivation. The flavor remains in the mouth and throat long after swallowing, gradually revealing layers of honey, flowers, ripe fruit, minerals, and a distinctive dark, almost chocolate-like sweetness.
The cha qi is strong, clear, and deeply settling. Rather than arriving all at once, it builds steadily through the session, bringing warmth to the body and a calm, focused state of mind. The tea remains remarkably stable through many infusions, with its texture, aroma, and returning sweetness continuing long after lesser teas would have faded.

Using slightly cooler water and very short early infusions will emphasize its sweetness, fragrance, and refined texture. Boiling water and longer steeps will reveal more of its bitterness, mineral structure, and power.
