Plum & Hei Cha Yeasty Bready & Sharp Sour Notes

"This tea I was underwhelmed by when I first brewed it; its flavors were there, just weak. I liked it a lot better when I made it again tonight, the flavor this time around was much more satisfactorily strong. I used a tablespoon & a half of leaves for this second attempt & brewed it in a 16oz beer stein using boiling water. The main flavors I get from this tea are plum plus the Hei Cha yeasty/bready & sour/sharp notes & a little bit of sweetness. Its also pretty astringent. I pick up some elusive floral, raisin, grassy, or very faint smoke notes at times. The color of this tea is on the lighter side."

Balanced but requires care

"Peat and hay notes hit immediately, followed by smokey Scotch and pine needles. A slight astringency gives the tea a nice bite, and the liquor is thick in the mouth with a lovely hui gan. Recommend using 92 degree water and slightly longer steeps to avoid an unpleasant sharpness. Good tea but can be a bit tricky to unlock its full potential."

Lightly smoked , sweet and fruity

"I like this tea. Good, clean flavors. Lightly smoked with sweet plums and fruits in finish. Very pleasant on a rainy afternoon. I like that its wild as well. 6 grams Gong Fu brewed for 15 seconds adding 5 seconds per brew. Really nice surprise!"
