Our 2026 release of Cozy is exactly what the name promises: a comforting, velvety, cha tou-heavy ripe pu-erh built for slow evenings, cold weather, and relaxed sessions. This year’s blend was made possible by a particularly lovely gift from our organic tea grower, who offered us some beautifully aged 2023 wet-piled organic cha tou. We blended those rich, dense tea nuggets with 2025 wet-piled organic loose leaf ripe pu-erh of various leaf grades to create a tea that is smooth, sweet, thick, and deeply satisfying.

The result is a ripe tea with a plush, rounded character and an especially soothing texture. The older cha tou gives the blend depth, body, and that extra silky, almost creamy feeling in the mouth, while the newer 2025 ripe material brings liveliness, sweetness, and aromatic lift. Altogether, this is a ripe tea that feels warm, friendly, and effortlessly drinkable, with notes of fruit, soft earth, and mellow sweetness. It is a perfect tea for unwinding, winter hibernation, or any time you want a ripe pu-erh that feels gentle without being dull.

Material & processing

The leaves used in this tea cake were harvested from organically cultivated pure assamica varietal tea bushes growing at an altitude of 1,300–1,350 meters (4,300–4,450 feet) on the summit of Ma Wei Mountain, just west of Pu’er City. The tea is first processed into sun-dried mao cha, then fermented through a 45-day wet-piling (wo dui / 渥堆) process to transform it into ripe pu-erh tea.

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and certified to international standards. EcoCert is IFOAM accredited.

The tea is grown and processed by Zuxiang Highmountain Tea Co.

Brewing guide

This tea is very forgiving and works well across many brewing styles.

Gongfu

6–7 grams per 100 ml
100 °C
One quick rinse recommended
Start with 8–10 second infusions, then increase gradually
Expect 8–12 rich, satisfying infusions

Western

4–5 grams per 300 ml
100 °C for 3–4 minutes
Re-steep 2–3 times

Thermos style (recommended)

1–1.5 grams per 100 ml
Use boiling water and steep for 30-60 minutes

Aging notes

This tea is already built for easy enjoyment now, but it should continue to deepen and integrate nicely over time. Store in 50-65% RH and 70-90F, in an odor-free area, with minimal airflow. The cha tou component should help the tea develop further richness and cohesion with a few years of rest.
