Spring 2025 old-arbor leaf from Tian Men Mountain (天门山), Yiwu. Naturally grown, wild-arbor trees about 60–100 years old yield a thick, sweet cup with the long, buttery mouthfeel Yiwu fans love.

Pressed into compact 250 g cakes; 160 cakes total (40 kg).

Wrapper design by Benjamin Denkert.

Why it’s special

  • High-elevation Yiwu subregion with classic sugarcane sweetness and a cool, clean profile

  • Old-arbor, large-leaf material for viscosity, stamina, and a steady, rising cha qi

  • Distinctive “buttery” palate feel balanced by tidy bitterness and low astringency

  • Small production and a build that will reward careful aging

Tasting notes

  • Aroma: orchid and wildflower honey, fresh bamboo, light sweet wood, faint citrus peel

  • Liquor: pale gold with excellent clarity; full, creamy texture

  • Flavor: poised Yiwu sweetness over cane and soft grain; a touch of youthful bitterness for lift; hints of white peach and rock sugar in later steeps

  • Finish & feel: long hui-gan, persistent mouthwatering return, and a calm-but-confident energy

Persistent hui gan

"Despite its youth, it already offers a beautiful, persistent hui gan that gently rises after each sip and lingers in the throat. Fresh, vibrant, and well-structured, it promises excellent can't wait to see how it ages."

Bold, bright, and flavorful - yet distinctly Yiwu

"This has a distinctive Yiwu flavor profile, but with an added pop of lemon zest in the finish. Bold, bright, and flavorful with great endurance, and a sweetness that builds over many infusions."
