About Pasha Mountain:

Pasha in the Aini language means tall and straight forest. According to local people, Pasha was settled more than 300 years ago by people from the Jinghong and Damenglong area of Xishuangbanna. At that time this area had no villages or cultivated land within 10 kilometers and was dominated by vast mountains filled with giant ancient tea trees. The Aini people, through foresight and diligent work, created their home on this land, relying on tea to earn a living. Pasha Ancient Tea Mountain is located in Menghai county to the Southwest of Gelanghe tea mountain. The highest elevation is 1850 meters, with an average of 1700 meters (the same as Lao Banzhang mountain). There are currently around 1000 acres of tea under cultivation. One hundred thirty years ago, the current Banzhang settlement was founded by residents of Pasha who moved there to cultivate tea. Pasha Ancient Tea Mountain is shrouded in fog year-round and features abundant rainfall. The tea producing area lies between 1600 and 1800m elevation and is in an area of luxuriant growth with rich ground cover and fertile soil. Tea tree growth is extremely productive, with an early budding period and long harvest periods, producing large healthy tea leaves with striking silver tips -- excellent quality tea. Pasha organic arbor tea is made from selected ancient arbor leaves grown at an elevation of 1700 meters on Pasha Ancient Tea Mountain in Menghai county.

A Crazy Introduction to Pu-ehr

"my first cup of this tea I had put too many leaves in the gaiwan, let it steep for a bit too long; it was acridly bitter and potent. Like chewing on a bit too big a piece of pine resin; with such cooling power as a drop of pure distillate of peppermint. (Forgive me, I am a great lover of the very subtle whispered flavors of Oolong. ) It is to be said there was nothing left for my imagination with this tea. Another thing, it shall be safe to say; I was taken aback, if not a little bit scared of the bunny sleeping under fog and moon. I let the hare have his rest, a year went by and I was curious to see if his sharp claws had dulled. Timidly, slowly, surgically, I broke free a piece from the hide of the still sleeping beast, I dare not move so sudden as to wake him and incur another bite, or stinging swing of his claw. I wrapped him back up, so gentle; so beautifully swaddled was he. I had the water ready, steaming, just off the boil. Preparing my heart, soul, mind, and palette. With the slow practiced grace I poured out a thin stream of water to wake up the hare. I swear I could not recognize the beast; a nap had truly done wonders, for his fur had taken a new sheen. Ah, so calm, so playful, so silken was he. There he was strikingly, haltingly, enamoring; like tasting a dance graceful, elegant and powerful."

Pasha is my new thing?

"I try to buy a tea cake from my Wife and Daughter's Chinese zodiac years when I can. I am looking for an affordable 1975 tea. Joking aside as I can't afford to go that far back I've focused on the last few anniversaries. I was in the market for a 2023. I chose this tea. When I buy these teas I focus less on my typical tastes and get something that has an appeal that feels relevant to them in any small way. I arrived at this tea and have now discovered I may need to spend more time in this region because I really love this tea. I'm finding that tea description s that include "brine" or "mineral" may be a flavor profile I enjoy. Thanks."
